SCAM ALERT - CHAD SIKORSKI

SCAM ALERT-CHAD SIKORSKI

We hesitated sharing this because we prefer to avoid drama, but sometimes because of other, unfortunate people, you can’t avoid it.

We were recently scammed for several hundred dollars by Chad Sikorski. He installed a water filter in our home at our request. I contacted Chad about installing a water filter that we planned to get from Home Depot. I know Chad, and I know he has a checkered past, but he has this good-dad, I’m a great guy routine he does now pretty convincingly.

Chad talked us out of buying the system at Home Depot because they “are not the same quality he can get” at his “contractor supply store”. Chad said that you had to be a contractor to go to this store, they get preferred pricing, and better quality materials than we could get in retail stores.

We gave him the money to go to the supply store and buy the materials to do the job. Chad gave us an invoice for six (6) filters at $42 each and various materials and supplies. Only 2 filters were in stock, the remaining 4 needed to be shipped to us the next day. When the remaining 4 filters were delivered the next day there was a receipt included (which stated all over it “DO NOT LEAVE PAPERWORK”), we discovered the 6 filters that Chad bought were only $8 each. And worse, they do not do anything we clearly told Chad we wanted this system for. We could have handled being overcharged if we at least got what we asked for.

We wanted this system to purify the water coming into our house so we had clean water at all sources. We were willing to pay for this, we made this clear to Chad and he assured us several times this is what we were getting. What he gave is a $40 filter and casing (not a water purification system), that isn’t the right size for our home and doesn’t do anything to clean water, and there is nothing we can buy to make it work the way we want it to. Chad knew this all along.

Steve went to the “exclusive” supply store – that, newsflash, anyone can go to and make a purchase – and spoke to the manager who verified all of this.

We know now that Chad intended to scam us from the moment I contacted him. He has developed a reputation for this that we were not aware of prior to this, but you can use the link below to see other complaints. There are other details we are leaving out because this story is long enough, but there are so many opportunities that Chad had to tell the truth and still make money. But, he chose to fabricate stories.

We have known Chad for many years and, while we know who he is, we did not think he would do this to us. We thought this was a really straightforward job and that it was safe to work with him without a contract.

Please do not hire this person for anything. He operates under CMS Home Improvements LLC, Sikorski Mechanical, and other names – he has to keep changing the name of his company to duck people he has scammed.

While we are annoyed and do not like what happened, we can at least wake up every day and feel good about the fact that we are not like Chad.

I hired Chad to do some work on my house. My neighbors and I wanted to remove the fence between us and replace it with a black steel fence that was available at Sam’s Club. It involved 2 sections of fence and a gate across their driveway and 3 sections of fence between our two driveways. They would pay for the fence across the driveway and I would pay for the fence between the driveways. Chad gave us a price of $600 to install the fence which I paid for and he and I bought.

Chad pulled out the posts but one to leave temporary fencing which my neighbors put up so my neighbors’ dogs wouldn’t be free. Chad said that 6 tons of dirt would be needed to level the ground for the fence. He took the money for the dirt, the upfront money for the installation and he presented the new cost of $2500 for the installation of the fence.

He required $700 in cash to pay his workers he said, which my neighbor gave him.

My neghbor also paid for the dirt that was dumped in their driveway. I texted Chad that I was unwilling to go forward with the work on my greenhouse and front steps due to my inability to pay for the two jobs, but that the downpayment money should be used for the fence. He then put the fence together without reading the instructions that required that the fence pickets be installed after the cross bars were attached to posts.

Chad took my 1370 and my neighbors’ 1000 deposit and started with excuses about why he wasn’t coming to fulfill the contract. He did not offer to return our money for services he didn’t provide. He ignored our text messages and phone calls and never returned.
