I had a girls bill with a balance when i moved in the house she moved out then i moved in and city of garland thought i was a roomate and so they made me pay her bill of over 1000$ before i could switch it on in my name i paid 860$ that time so they can turn them on i was without electric for a week and they made me sign a contract that i have to pay the rest of the bill which was 400 so im without lights again ...
Just opened my Electric bill for March, I understand the monthly charges, What I DON'T get is the MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES!!!! I'm Disabled on limited income. I don't know how I am going to beable to afford the EXTRA $130.00 tagged onto my current bill. I get Utility allowance from Dallas Housing Authority for barley enough to cover our electric bill as it is. I also have a child at home who is 100 percent DISABLED!!!!! I can't afford to be THREATENED by the City of Garland Utilities to have the Electricity turned off!!!!!.
City of Garland is ridiculous. Their rates are high and they have NO Problem turning your utilities off even if you're 5 days past due. As I'm writing this now I have no water, but I have electricity...and yes they service Both. They'll cut off ur water as a scare tactic first...then come for your electricity the next day if u haven't paid. I went and paid my ONLY 5 day past due bill tonight, but this is the kind of games this company plays. Texas is known for their deregulation...but City Of Garland makes sure d**n near EVERY corner in Garland is serviced by them, so u can't go to another company. Then when they have u, they do u like a hooker on a corner the night after. RUN. Do not come to Garland. Or at least get a home that IS DEREGULATED. Garland plays too many games and I have seen this often. Not bc I can't afford my bill but because they seem to make up rules as they go and at your expense.!!
