Castle Payday Reviews

READ THE FINE PRINT! This company taught me a valuable lesson about fine print.

I was debited $350, then a few days later, $850. This was not my payment schedule or an agreement (that I entered into, knowingly, or with ALL the facts). Now I'm ridiculously overdrawn, and then when speaking to them about my issues with their business practices, they offered me a $1500 dollar loan ("to help"), which I immediately refused, it seems they would like to keep you, forever -- and they'll be happy to take all your money, and then some. (Please don't fall for it, or you will be paying-- A LOT).

I was misled, deceived, and used. This company is bad news. If you think this company will help you dig yourself out of a hole, you're wrong, ...you'll be buried by the dirt, --the ridiculous finance fees, as well as the exorbitant interest rate. I do not recommend this company to anyone. I don't know how this company gets around Usury Laws, but it's exactly what they seem to be doing.

I was led to believe my payments would be $140.00 per month at time of approval. Now, they tell me it is $280.00 per month. They are very deceptive on the terms. Rip off the people is what they do!!!!! JoLayne East Central Minnesota

This company, run by a tribe in MI, charges at least 500% interest on any loans they give. A $1000 loan will cost you $9000, at least. I believe they think they are exempt from the laws of humanity. People taking out payday loans are generally poor and have no resources. I can't imagine this company can make any money.

They do not respond to e-mails, their phone support is non-existant, and they want direct access to your checking account to pay your loan. I had to bring in my state's Attorney General office to straighten them out.

Hideous business plan. Awful people.

Do not use this service. They will offer you an extremely high interest first loan (for example, $560 in interest payments every month on a $800 loan), with the promise that your next loan will be at a lower interest rates once you are a "proven customer". Then when you are finally able to pay off the first loan (which is not easy, since the interest payments are so high that it is difficult to come up with money to pay off any of the principal), Castle Payday denies your second loan request, so they don't ever have to offer the lower interest rate loans that they promise. Bait and switch, pure and simple. Also, since they are located on tribal land, they are out of the reach of any regulatory enforcement resolutions. If they were subject to state or federal regulatons they would quickly be placed out of business by any state attorney general, because their rates and practices are clearly in violation of many state laws. Again.........do NOT do business with these folks. You will regret it.

Fortunately I paid this off in 3 payments but still cost me a fortune. When I complained about their rates I got a "discount". Ha ha, was I a fool. Do not borrow from this tribe. They are taking advantage of people in crisis.
