I was sitting in St Louis at a Specialty. Steve was sitting about 3 chairs to my right. A person was in front of him in the ring with a dog. He was almost asleep or so it seemed when all of a sudden he jumped up and went into what can only be considered as a Frantic sudden fit saying and pointing his finger at the person in the ring, "YOU OWE ME $80 DOLLARS!" Then he stormed out of the building and did not come back. It was both unusual and weird all at the same time. I sat and the gentleman he did this to was just looking in his direction in a drop jaw reaction. I watched as a woman came up and he then said to her, 'did you see that?" and she replied, "yes what was that all about?" he said, "I did not say a word to him, he just blurted out, YOU OWE ME 80 DOLLARS!, weird he still owes us 1200 for the puppy we never got and he has a public fit like that. How odd."
What I can say is that many sitting there started to wag tongues and it showed me that Mr Bowerman indeed has a problem. I found out he was suspended from the club for lying, taking others money and not getting them puppies. If you ask me I think he should have been permanently removed, but I am not even a member therefore I can't say a word to argue for those who were taken by him.
I understand he still breeds and despite on line warning about his previous business practices he is still selling puppies.

He did not apparently go and have further procedures done on his cancer to take care of her. If this man is having such awful money issues, WHY DID HE PAY TO HAVE DOGS TRANSPORTED DOWN TO ST LOUIS AND HIS DOG HANDLER TO SHOW AT THE BOUVIER NATIONALS? Why did he leave his wife to attend a week long event? This takes a vast sum of money in all probability collected to fund his health issues but used to fund his dog showing. He was kicked out of his local dog club and suspended from the Bouvier Des Flandres club. The AKC dropped his breeder of merit. He is guilty and will not make restitution! Stephen D Bowerman, took money in promise for a puppies from his upcoming litters. He has taken well over 10 thousand dollars from a collective group of 6 people (there may be more victims we just dont' know). He has not communicated with anyone afte takign our money. He has told many lies about the puppies and the reasons he has not sent them. All of his victims requested refunds and he telsl them "the checks are in the mail" yet they never come. He has a variety of stories he weaves and no one knows what the truth is. However the truth is, he has our money and will not give it back.
All of us have notified the Alaska State Troopers, some have lawsuits filed, others have appealed to Kennel Clubs and the American Kennel Club.
It is through social media that we found one another and this tells us we are not alone. We all heard different stories that were similiar yet different in some of the "facts" he used. However we all stand without puppies and out substantial amounts of money.
The moral of our story is don't buy a puppy from him. Don't be fooled by him or his stories. Don't send him money. . . . seek out another breeder. We do not want anyone else to be out money or harmed financially by this man and his wife.

What has been said above is not true. Yes deposits were made but not 10,000 dollars worth. There were four deposits taken on a littler that was lost. One of the deposits has already been returned and we are in the process of returning the others. Other's who had reserved puppies elected to move their deposits to the next litter which is due in a few weeks. It should also be known that the three people who have been slandering us were referred to us by one of the ladies who we have known for 8 years and was going to get a puppy as well. I own one of her dogs and it was this female that we had bred. As for the person who write this I see not name attached to who the author is and probable because they know they are now being completely honest as to what transpired. One last thing.
