Don’t Trust Carshield! My family purchased a car warranty for our F-150, 6 months later our engine broke down 20K Bill. Guess what Carshield doesn't want to pay the bill! Buyer Be Ware, its a Legal Insurance Scam False advertising, they promise to fix your motor and leave you on the side of the road! They will collect your monthly premium with no problem, remember they won’t pay your claim, save yourself the nightmare of massive car issues and don’t purchase Carshield!!!!

Then after almost 3 years of coverage, I traded my RAM 1500 in and called to cancel. The girl cancelled but when i informed her that a charge was pending on my credit card. PENDING???? she refused to issue a credit. She said once an invoice is issued, they did not issue credits.

In my lowly opinion, This is outright thievery and has a real potential for a class action lawsuit.

On Friday, 07/15/2022 Carshield had stolen $109.99 without my authorization. I had only called to find out information from them a couple of months ago. They had been trying to charge my account for over a month now without success due to lack of balance. I had a bunch of cash that was put on my Paypal issued debit card this past week.

They finally stolen my money. I had filed a complaint against Carshield with the Better Business Bureau. I had tried to call them. The guy who had answered their telephone said that customer service would have to deal with this and to call them back on Monday when they be back. I am going to do that. I tried to dispute it with Paypal, but there is no option on Paypal's website to deal with this transaction.

I had tried to call Paypal too, but their customer service is also not going to be open until Monday. I am calling Paypal back on this coming up Monday on 07/18/2022. I am going to fight to get my $109.99, will not ever use their service in the future, and is going to make sure Paypal block any transactions from them in the future.

When I called to check out the services and prices of Carshield, The sale person was not transparent all they tell you is good things to get you to give them your credit card. after few months I started feeling some car trouble while the car is still drivable I took it to Toyota dealership and they said it was the transmission. Carshield said we can not provide a car rental . and they dont tell you when an adjuster can look at it. they dont tell you to leave the car at the shop. While my car was still drivable and there was no rental car available anyways , I did not know i was supposed to leave the car at the mechanic god knows for how long or how many days or weeks, I left the shop until they call me. When they called after 10 days they said the claim is denied because I dont have the last 12 month maintenance records and because I drove the car after The mechanic diagnose that it is transmission issue. They only offered to return me my last month payment and canceled my contract. SO I got screwed and and I hope no one will get screwed as well. Be carful, I would not recommend Carshield to no one. They will find something to use so not to cover the claim or help you fixing your car. So stay away honestly.

Took their vehicle warranty service out in good faith. Purchase the "Platinum" contract so that everything would be covered.

Their advertising is very deceptive. They advertise that their Warranty Service is accepted by everyone. Well, on March 3rd my husband took the covered vehicle into our local Chevrolet dealer to have some repairs made. They flat out stated that the would not take Total Choice Warranty Contracts. Stated that they were very difficult to deal with and didn't want to pay.

We called a local Automobile Repair facility that we had previously used and they said they would take the Total Choice Warranty Contract even though in the past they had had problems with them. Well, when the repair shop submitted the estimate of the repairs that were required to the vehicle Total Choice sent someone out to investigate.

They wouldn't cover the Evaporator on the AC unit unless the AC unit was torn down and they could inspect the Evaporator themselves. We would have been responsible for the $800 cost it would have incurred to tear down the AC system. Upon further inspection it was determined that the Evaporator did not neet replacing.

We were then advised that we had to submit the repair/maintenance receipts for the vehicle. Which we did. Then they notified the repair facility that they had found cheaper parts that they wanted them to use instead of the parts he was going to obtain. He said "no" tha he would not take shipped in parts from someone other than who he used. At this time we found out that we would have to pay out of pocket over $800 plus all sales tax for the repair. We were over a barrel. So we authorized the repairs to be done.

I have re-read the contract and cannot find where the customer is responsible for the Sales Tax.

Ultimitely we have cancelled the Contract with Car Shield. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. If you need a after Factory Warranty for your vehicle check with your dealership. They will tell you who they use.

I bought carshield a few months back just in case my Chevy with 239,000 Miles were to break down. Well about 2 weeks ago my Chevy pickup started to get a humming sound and vibration occasionally when I would turn left, well i figured it was a power steering pump Or something minor. I parked my silver Chevy and started to drive my blue Chevy pickup. Once I was able to take my silver Chevy to the mechanic shop here in Rapid City, SD I did so about a week or so later when we got time off due to cold weather. I took my pickup to Rapid Chevrolet in Rapid City, SD.

I received a call the following day, the lady in Service let me know it was my front differential part of the front axle, a very serious repair. Mind you I thought a power steering pump. Me being a small business owner I was thinking l, well at least I have a warranty to cover this so I submitted my warranty information to Chevy that day.

Come the next day I got a call from the lady who works with carshield, it's another company called, American Auto Shield they do business with carshield for their underwriting and adjustments... well she asked me a few brief questions about when and possibly how this noise started to occur.

I told her I noticed the noise one day, then I parked my silver Chevy and started to drive my blue Chevy for a week or two until I could get time to take my other pickup to Chevy. Mind you the silver Chevy at the time wasn't leaking any fluids etc.. it was PERFECTLY DRIVABLE.

JUST AS I TOLD HER.

Well the day after I talked to that lady, they called Chevy and said they would only cover the labor and $140 in parts.. so Chevy relayed that message to me.

I was absolutely pissed, so I called American Auto Shield and talked to the underwriter and explained exactly what I told I told lady and he said she never told him the specifics on what transpired on me parking my silver Chevy for a week or two and proceeded to drive my blue truck until I had time to take it to Chevy to get checked out.

He told me that he would talk with his supervisor and get the adjustments changed. I told him that would be appreciated since I as a customer have paid my premiums and followed my contract to a T!

Well come the next day he calls me back and says we'll unfortunately we can't change anything because you drove the silver Chevy knowing it was broken down etc. I was pissed and i told him I didn't know it had any serious problems and that it was not broken down because I drove it to the d**n dealership.

Then they told me they wouldn't cover it because I didn't get it towed to the shop cause it was broken down. They just keept making bullshit excuses to avoid covering the full cost because it was around $3700 and they didn't want to pay up on their end of the contract.

They are a bunch of con artists and liars and I've been reading tons of incidents and reviews of similar relation to my incident with Carshield and American Auto Shield.

I personally think carshield and American Auto Shield are owned by similar people if not the same person owning a master con artist business. This business needs to be shut down and whoever owns it in Prison. I want to sue carshield and American Auto Shield for monetary, and phis

CarShield (also use the name American Auto shield and Mepco) intentionally falsely advertises that if your engine light comes on you will be covered . They even show on their television advertisements that they would replace your engine and it would only cost you a $100.00 deductible. Free towing and car rental are also advertised.

My engine light came on my 2017 Hyundaia Elantra after I had been a member of Car Shile dfor 3 months and paid $99.99 each month. When my engine light came on I called Car Shield and they told me that I would have to pay $150.00 extra for the towing. I told them that towing was free so he told me they would be at my house (17 miles from the tow company) in less than 1 hour. 4 and 1/2 hours later and after 3 more phone calls they finally arrived to tow my car the 35 miles to the Hyundai dealership.

They never provided me with the rental car that they are advertising every day (multiple times each day) on the televison on numerous channels. They towed my car on Friday 11 Feb and I spoke to the delaership and they told me they would look at my car on Monday 14 Feb. I received a phone call Monday morning from the Hyundai Dealership informing me that Car Shield had DENIED my claim and that they would pay ZERO to repair my car.

I had to pay out of pocket $937.32. Car Shield NEVER nother to telephone me that they were denying my claim and when I called them and told them taht they were guilty of false and misleading advertisement, they acted like they did not care. I immediately cancelled my contract with Car Shield. The next day Car Shield telephoned me and offered me a $10.00 monthly reduction from $99.99 to $89.99 if I would come back for the life of my contract.

Why would anyone continue to pay a company that DENIES your car repair when tehy advertise that it is covered. If you want to get ripped off go with Car Shield. They will take yor monthly payment, DENY your claim, REFUSE to give you a rental car and try and CHARGE you for towing that they advertise is FREE.

Their rating with the Better Business Bureau (I have been told) is an F. The worse rating that you can have. Thsi is by far, the worse company that you can have for a warranty on your car.

I have been paying Car shield $126 faithfully every month since June 2020. I called last week and inquired about a master brake cylinder and was told that they did not cover this part. I thereafter paid $685 out of pocket for this part/labor. After viewing my policy I saw that the part is covered (FUEL SYSTEM) livid to say the least. I thereafter Called to cancel this policy and the representative ask me why? I informed her about everything discussed previously.

She apologized and stated that she was sorry that I was misinformed but the part is covered under my policy. I was really upset at this point and told her that the work had already been done. I paid $685 out of pocket expenses. Cancel my policy as I seek legal recourse.

Charged me for warranty monthly fee and reduced it to 69.00 for the silver package when I said I was going to cancel, They have not fixed anything on my car each time it went in the shop, This time it stopped on my and they towed it to my home, (i thought it was a starter ) find out from two tows and two shops the engine locked up. I have all the maintenance records. and I had the timing chain replaced, alternator so my car stayed ready until this day. I called car shield was contacted by the mechanics to say the engine locked up.

they sent an adjuster and denied the claim due to car front-end damage which I had no damage I was replacing parts because my bumper was snatched off from left to right. (trailer caught it) the fenders I been riding around for two years with them bent in. no engine damage. the adjustor tells the mechanic they are denying it because of the damage to the car. the mechanic said that has nothing to do with the engine. the car did not run hot, nothing with water pump. oil in the car.

My car has been sitting there for two months. I am now going to have it towed to my house tired of fighting them. you can't talk to a supervisor (heck I don't think they have any) you can't talk to the claims adjuster.. the phone people are just workers pushing the transfers and taking your money and s****.>

per silver policy. I told them they can call the mechanic to get that done but they have to pay for it. since they need it. They refused to request and RDI to determine and verified the course of internal engine failure. a total rip-off. then I told them I wish to cancel for the 2nd time. funds drafted with out my authorization. called in for refund refused.

My complaint is with CarShield and American Auto Shield because they work together. I signed up with CarShield but American Auto Shield administers the policy. Ten weeks ago I signed up for the gold plan car warranty and then 4 weeks ago my car had issues with the drive train. I took my 2014 Nissan Rouge to the local Nissan dealership and they determined that my transmission needed to be replaced and this would cost me $4000 so I submitted a claim with CarShield.

After 16 days, Carshield declined my claim saying that it was pre-existing, which is not possible because i drove the car to Nissan plus the head mechanic said there is no time stamp that determines when a break down occurs. I believe that this was declined because of the cost and believe that if it was a $200 repair, it would have been approved. It's one thing to have a claim declined but it just made it worse when they took 16 days to decide this which is bad business plus i had to borrow cars/rides for 16 days

I bought their platinum warranty contract I've been paying on it for over five months. I have a 2020 Silverado. I took it in to the dealership and I found out that the rear end hadd issue. I turned that into them for a claim for $1900 and they would not pay it! I have full service records since day one of the vehicle.

I called few time got the run around the dealer called more then 5 times. This is a scam outfit that lies to you I feel betrayed to the fact that I thought I was running and driving under warranty when I really wasn't they will not cover what they say they do!

Last Monday I took my car in to be checked for a check engine lite and starter trouble. Repair shop tells me there's gas in my oil from a bad fuel pump and that this issue has also caused the timing chain to wear and need replacing which is the reason for the starter issue. It is now Wed of the following week almost 10 days later and they're denying the claim saying the fuel pump regulator is what's bad and that part is not under warranty.

No one has said anything about a fuel pump regulator. The carshield adjustor has done everything in his power to deny the claim and even make up something that needs replacing when in actuality it doesn't need replacing just the parts that were mentioned.

After being without my vehicle for a number of weeks, I had to call and find out that my claim for the transmission repair was denied due to a "pre-existing condition". The details of the denial were based on the fact that I had inquired about a noise coming from my vehicle during routine maintenance with the dealership.

They diagnosed it as the transmission needing to be replaced for about $10,000. Given that the dealership does not honor CarShield warranties, my resolve was to take the vehicle somewhere that does.

After many days without transportation with my car sitting, after CarShield was specifically told that there was no rebuild kit for the transmission for my car, I began to get the run around. I was told that the claims adjuster was unable to get in touch with the repair shop while already knowing from the repair shop that there was a call received requesting that the repair shop take photographs of the broken down transmission (an RDI is what CarShield calls it) after they were told by the repair shop that they were unable to tear down the transmission because there was no rebuild kit for it.

I was then given the run around about the status of the claim:

1) Claim was at a halt because the transmission was not taken apart.

2) Claim was at a halt because the inspection had not been received.

3) Claim was still in review because the claims adjuster was out of the office and is now back.

4) Claim was still in review because the claims adjuster was in but still reviewing the claim.

Needless to say, throughout this entire process, I submitted 3 requests for the claims adjuster to contact me and never received a phone call. The only time I heard from anyone during this process without having to call them was from Anthony Gonzalez stating that he was the claims adjuster and needed me to provide him with my statement and the service records for my vehicle. After 7 days, I called to inquire about the claim to discover that Mr. Gonzalez had not uploaded the service records to their records department, therefore, causing me to have to submit them via email directly to the records department myself.

I later on was told during one of my numerous phone calls to CarShield that Mr. Gonzalez was never the claim adjuster but was "assisting" the claims adjuster who was someone by the name of "Chris". After all was said and done, after contacting CarShield twice on 11/27/20, I was told today on 11/30/20 that my claim was denied on 11/27/20. I never received a phone call from CarShield or this claims adjuster as I requested previously.

To put the icing on the cake, the repair shop reached out to me to notify me that they were unaware of the declined claim as well. I cancelled the policy with CarShield as of today, 11/30/20. When I asked for a refund for the last payment made just days before the claim was denied, 11/25/20, I was told that they don't give refunds and that I would be covered until 12/5/20.

I have warned those who have the coverage to beware of the process and to have a plan B in place. I will be taking further action to ensure that, at the minimum, people are educated about what CarShield is doing and how they literally avoid paying claims. With having to now work with the dealership, I now have an out of pocket expense of $1300. With an unexpected repair for a transmission along with having to cover expenses for my home, it was an extreme hindrance to discover the coverage I thought I had for my vehicle is unreliable.

I made an inquiry on how much warranty would cost. The cost was high, i politely stated no thank you I am not insterest. i started getting calls like 3 times a day on my cell phone. i blocked the numbers, but they use a different number each time. This has been going on for 2 months now.

i constantly get emails that I had to block. But they are like bulldogs, once they get your information ,they will not let go. I told them I am not interested, and i sold the car. But still the calls keep coming. i try to tell them to please stop calling, but they hang up on me and the n later call again claiming they have no information on any previous calls. They appears to hound you until you give in and buy the warranty. I just want them to stop.
