On December 23, 2016 I was being forced to take a loaded trailer from N.Carolina to Alabama, about 400 miles, The trailer was in DOT violation and the Bills and dispatch did not match the trailer. because the driver that was assigned this trailer smashed it and then he took my load to hide his crimes!

After argusing back and with a one Paula childness (driver manager) I refused to take the load and requested the cargo be transfered to the empty trailer I had, they did not comply! she sent road service to look at the trailer because the door hinges was bent and the doors would not close! there was about 6 people there and all said the trailer was in DOT violation! it took 3 guys and two 5 foot bars to close the doors, all of them advised me that the trailer was in DOT violation not to drive it because its damaged!

Ignoring the extent of the damage Paula Childness said it was my load and I was under dispatch and I had to take it! I told her i will quit before i drive in DOT violation! so the arguement continued in email and on the phone so I quit! I live in Florida so I asked her for a load to go home, she said go dead head and take the truck back to the main terminal.

so I did.

On my way back to the terminal still being in North carolina, the fuel card was shut off! I couldent get a cash advance, I just started the job tow weeks prior and I was expecting my first check after christmas.. so the company left me with no money and no fuel card! i request many times for a cash advance so i can eat but they just lied and and lied and never gave me no advance so I drove all the way back with out eating! this is how abusive this company is! they dident care if i passed out while driving!

On the way to florida I spoke to many people at the main office and the dispatch told me to take the truck home and just switch to another branch so i agreed! when I got to palm bay and parked the truck for the christmas holiday I did a pretrip inspection and noticed a water leak, the water pump went bad! I called and reported the water pump and a tom said to call him monday and he will send me to get the truck looked at.. Monday I called and was told to take the truck on tuesdays to TA on exit 147 off 95S this was 40 miles from my house, I took the truck there and then I was put in a hotel across the street, the hotel was booked for two days, on the first day I got a call from mark and he told me to take all my stuff out the truck that I was done! so I question him about the truck and he said that he had some one else to go get it! I told him im not responsible for the truck because hes telling me to leave! he said dont worry it wont go on your dac because i said for you to leave your finished!

I removed my stuff from the truck while it was in the bay and cleaned it.. I called my brother and he came and picked me up! i send a message on the qualcom that mark said to leave the truck there.. when I got home i called Greg my recruiter and told him what happened, he said soory man good luck! I said thanks take care!

ITS NOW JANUARY 26, 2017 and I NEVER RECIEVED A PAYCHECK FOR ANY OF THE WORK I DID TWO WEEKS PRIOR LEADING UP TO THIS EVENT! I CALL AND CALL AND THEY TRANSFER ME AND SAY I WILL CALL YOU BACK BUT THEY NEVER DO!

THERE HOLDING BACK MY SALARY IN RETALIATION CAUSING ME HARDSHIT AND IMOTIONAL DISTRESS BECAUSE THERE ANGRY THAT I FILED A REPORT FOR THE DEPTOF TRANSPORTATION! SO I FILED ANOTHER COMPLAINT WITH THE DEPTMENT OF LABOR BECAUSE THE WILL NOT PAY ME AND OR SAY WHY IM NOT BEING PAID!! IM OWED OVER $800.00

CARROLL FULMER IS VIOLATING FEDRAL DOT LAWS AND LABOR LAWS! THER ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO PAY FOR ORIENTATION AND THEY DONT PAY NOBODY THAT! THAT GIVE A TAX WRITE OFF BONUS! I GOT ONLY $100 FOR 30 HOURS OF MY TIME! THAT COMES OUT TO $3.00 AN HOUR!

CARROLL FULMER SAYS FAMILY FIRST! YES ITS TRUE BUT ONLY THERE FAMILY! FORGET MINE!!

THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO PAY ME FOR ALL MY TIME INCLUDING BREAK DOWN PAY OF TWO DAYS! THERE CROOKS!!

Carroll Fulmer is a trucking company like most, now I am not one to put down a company and never had to write a bad review about no company I have ever worked for. But this is the very first company I have to write a bad review so other drivers out there can beaware of this company before they come to the company.

First let me say the company prides itself on being family and in fact that is there motto. But when you get to the company you will find that they are lost in space when it comes to getting things done.

In order to qualify to work for the company you must first have at least 1 year of Over The Road trucking experience, with that being said you would think the pay is very good, it isn't even close to being good.

All drivers no matter how many years of experience you have start at $0.35CPM but wait it gets better they take $0.09CPM off to give you per diem. Which they say is better for you, it isn't even close to what the IRS says you are aloud to take for a deduction for being away from home. So you start off making $0.26CPM. Pulse your travel pay which is the per diem.

Now you will average about 1500 to 3500 miles a week. It all depends on your dispatcher and how they run you. The first 2 to 3 months they will get you miles, but it changes a lot during the weeks while you are out on the road.

They also have dentention pay of $10.00 an hour after you wait 4 hours for free. They do not pay your dentention pay the same week and you have to keep on them about it, also if you don't get your time in and out on the bill of landings your are not getting paid for dentention.

They also sometimes say the places don't pay dentention so you won't get paid for wasting a whole day at a shipper.

Layover pay isn't paid until you have been waiting for at least 37 hours and it is only $50.00 dollars, now if anyone is dumb to wait that long at a shipper you must have lost your mind.

They also we require you to get the bill of landings signed with your time in and out and you may not get paid for that wait, in a timely matter.

They also say they do coast to coast and do dry and reefer loads that is not true for Groveland, FL. They only do dry van and you may only get down to Texas and you more then likely start going to the same places over and over.

When you start with the company you will have a week hold on your check, so don't expect a check for about 2 or 3 weeks after working with the company depending on when you come to the company.

According to the company they have a turnover rate of about 75% of the personnel that come work for the company leave within 90 days. So for those that are still working for the company ask them where they live.

Home- time is very easy to get with the company, just make sure you ask for it about 2 to 3 weeks out and also make sure you request to go home at least 2 days before you need to be home if it is important. I would keep a labor lawyer number handy in your area just incase because sometimes that is the only way you will get them to get you home. And also keep the number to the EEOC. Especially if you have medical appointment.

This company is very fast pace and will keep you under a load and your times are very tight and good luck trying to get them to change your times. They will always tell you how many hours you have left on your day.

The trucks they have at the company is Macks, Freightliner, International ProStar.

Now good luck getting anything but a Mack or International, there is a wait on the Freightliners, and you may get lucky to be able to get in one when you attend class. Most of the trucks are Automatic, you do have to take a driving test in a Manul shift, but if can't drive one just let them know.

Benifits with the company are good, they are not that much to pay for. So at least you have that, of course you have to wait 90 days to be able to sign up for them.

Holiday pay is offered it is $60.00 with the company after you have been with the company for 120 days.

If you want to lease with the company you can apply for leasing with the company, you have to be with the company for at least 90 days and then you can apply to the company to lease a truck they have to lease of course Macks, Freightliners, And Kenworths. The Macks are the only ones they offer a warrenty on. I would discuss more about that but I feel if you really want to lease with this company then you should at least do your homework before you sign.

In my option this company is paying very low compared to a lot of companies out there that require at least 1 year of driving, and it is more of insult to pay everyone the same when some drivers may have more then a year of driving.

Some drivers that work for the company will tell you this is a great company and they love working for this company, and most will say that and most will tell you the truth and how it really is. I am not one to complain about a lot of things I just want to drive and do my job. But when I feel drivers are getting into something they will later regret or wish they didn't take that other driving job. I think it is time to speck out.

I am not saying not to come and work for Carroll Fulmer, if you want to come and work for this company by all means please do, I just wish for everyone to know what you are getting yourself into.

There are plenty of companies out there that will pay a lot more with at least 1 year of driving experience.
