Campus Habitat Reviews

  • Sep 23, 2015

My daughter is a University of Wyoming student. She and three roommates rented a 4 bedroom apartment for the 2014-2015 school year. My daughter moved out at the end of her lease on May 18, 2015. My daughter then spent the month of June out of the country on a Student Volunteer project. When she returned in July 2015, she had not received her deposit refund so she stopped by the rental complex's management office to inquire about it. She was assured by Amy, Manager that her account was in good standing with no monies owed so she could expect a $199 refund.

Either my daughter or myself has stopped by or called and spoken with Amy, Manager (3) more times since - 7/28/15, 8/31/15, 9/21/15. Each time, Amy, Manager assures us that my daughter is owed a refund. Amy, Manager also repeatedly advises that "It's a complicated process because Campus Habitat Corp Offices are in PA and they bank in GA . . . etc, etc" Amy, Manager also repeatedly advises that "This happens all the time." and that she personally knows of former tenants who moved out in good standing as long ago as 2014 and have not yet received their deposit refunds.

Yesterday I searched online for Campus Habitat Corp contact information as I am fed up with the run around from location management. I received a system notice that the only email address I could find anywhere refused my communication. The online Corp link takes me to some women's clothing etc shopping site.

I feel that Campus Habitat preys on young, inexperieced people who may not know their legal rights and are no doubt very likely to just give up without fighting for them even if they do. While I understand this is not a high dollar issue, that's not even the point. The point is that my daughter lived up to her end up the legal agreement she made with Campus Habitat . . . I intend to see to it that Campus Habitat lives up to their end. I intend to pursue this matter however I have to in order to make that happen. And I also intend to take and create any and every opportunity to publicize Campus Habitat's immoral, unethical, unprofessional, and illegal business practices in hopes of detering as many future tenants from doing business with them as possible.
