Anyone remember the private lenders name

Looking to verify the name of the private lending company that BCTI used for the privately subsidized loan portion, so I can pursue reimbursement from them as well as the federal department of education.

Any help is appreciated.

Business computer training instiutute

Never informed about bcti lawsuit. Went in 99 and had to pay more than ten grand . Was only 17 when I enrolled. Still working at Grocery store never got a better job like promised and I can't have loan forgiven cause I already paid it. Why wasn't I made aware of lawsuit. This place lied and said it was equivalent to a associate degree. I was laughed at when I went to a few interviews. Have not been able to go to school again since this experience. I had to drop out of high-school to go there. I was doing both but school said it was called school work overload and I would have to choose between finishing my junior and senior year or drop out to finish bcti. I had to choose bcti because I had already missed the deadline to drop it before having to pay it all back. Honestly I would have been better going back to high-school and paying back the ten grand. At least then I wouldn't have to explain why I didn't graduate high-school. So now I paid ten grand to do Mavis beacon on everett mall way . I want my money back and an apology for missing out on my senior year for absolutely nothing

I attended BCTI Tukwila, WA back in 1999-2000. Was pregnant and had to take some time off to birth my child. They gave me only a week to get back to school in order to finish assignements or I'd be dropped. I was young and did not know much about loans and to know if I was being ripped off. 3 days after giving birth to my child I returned to school to do my best to finish up assignments that I didn't really understand just for them to say okay you pass and handed me a Certificate of Completion. Allowed me access to use the computers for job hunting. Went to interviews just for people to tell me "on paper you have the qualifications but you just don't have the experience." Worthless certificate from a school that taught me things I already knew from high school. I just wish I am able to get "Loan Forgiveness" over this. I hope people that are looking into this school reads all these complaints before enrolling. I wish someone warned my Mom before she decided to force me to enroll. Best of Luck to everyone ripped off by these people. All this school did for me was give me a loan that I'm still to this day trying to pay off.

Apparently this school closed and they were involved in a class action suit that I should have been notified about. I attended BCTI in 1995 and received a worthless certificate for $20,000.

I attended BCTI school in Fife WA in the 90's. This school preyed on low-income students with promises of high- tech training and good paying jobs. The curriculum was flawed and riddled with errors . I ended up defaulting on my student loans which then the federal government would garnish my pay checks and income taxes. I just came across a law suite that was filled against this school and many won and got settlements. It took me 23 years to pay off my loans and for what? All the programs they thought were useless and did not help me get a JoB. I'm asking for a full refund of all the money I paid . Had I known about this sooner I would of suied them long ago.

I attended BCTI in Fife, WA in 2002. They promised a wonderful career after completing and receiving the "Computer Applications Certificate" (aka worthless piece of paper). Being 19, a new mom, I trusted the enrollment advisor that their programs were better than going to a community college and she rushed me through enrollment which she filled out herself and I just signed. She totally took advantage of my excitement and naive attitude. I wasn't told the programs were non-transferable and not accredited. Also wasn't told I had a time frame where I could quit early. This school was so deep in investigations and had problems, but I had no clue about all of it when I enrolled.

The training was nothing new or challenging, things I already learned in high school. Their software and computer equipment were out of date. The job I got after completion was a minimum-wage, part-time office assistant position at a non-profit organization, and in about $10,000 in debt. Today, I don't even put that I've attended this school on job applications, or else I wouldn't move forward in the hiring process. I still have close to $5,000 - $6,000 in federal loans which I had deferred and made forbaranced a lot. The private loans I've long since paid off, but they were harassing and kept me at low-income level and constant debt.

Since I found out about the school closures and lawsuits, a few years after, I felt like I missed out. But there is good news for those in the same boat as me, if you go to studentaid.ed.gov/sa/repay-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/borrower-defense#help, or google "Borrower defense forgiveness" and go to the StudentAid website, you can ask for loan forgiveness. This is for those that didn't know or wasn't notified the school closed, the fraudulent cases, and missed the lawsuit. So if you didn't go to court to sue the school, you can submit a request to the US Department of Education. Just google "BCTI school closures" and you'll see multiple news articles with evidence of all the illegal things this school did. I attached these to the loan forgiveness request I sent to the US Dept of Education.

In the state of Washington the law states, "Since the inception of the Degree-Granting Institutions Act in 1986, the agency has had the authority to both investigate student complaints and ensure protection of student records, such as transcripts. Additionally, the agency safeguards consumers by ensuring authorized schools meet minimum standards related to academic quality and financial ability; investigating institutions that may be operating illegally in the state; considering student complaints to determine if an institution is in violation of the Degree-Granting Institutions Act; providing a service to former students of closed institutions by providing copies of their transcripts; and by investigating institutions believed to be issuing false academic credentials. The Act also protects Washington consumers from substandard, fraudulent, and deceptive activities at degree-granting colleges and universities authorized by the Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC). In 2012, the Washington State Legislature enacted the False Academic Credentials law, RCW 9A.60.070, which both defines and provides penalties for the issuance or use of false academic credentials." (Washington Student Achievement Council - Protecting Education Consumers)

To get a transcript, the Washington Student Achievement Council has a list of closed schools (BCTI is on the list) you can request it from them. They have instructions and form to fill out on their website. You can also go to MyStudentData.com and find out all of your loan and school attended information.
