I called Burr & Reid today to obtain a blanace due on unpaid medical bills. Having dealt with 2 other agencies and a sheriffs department where they had filed a judgement I was taken aback by the rude invasive way I was treated. Dealing with other agencies I was given my balance due after identifying myself. Burr & Reid wated to know where I worked why I was unemployed, how long i had been uneployed, where the funds were coming from to pay them. Why is that their business if I am paying the debt off.
I feel I should have been placed on hold while they called the Sheriff to verify judgement payment and then given my payoff amount without the invasive questions. It is as if they did not want my money. I was then "educated" as to what a consolidation payoff agreement was and how to make monthly payments. Ummm i called to get balance to PAYOFF my debt. Obviously this company is a really looking for payoff agreements in order to get intrest and other obnoxious fees. The other agencies and the Sheriff were so helpful and positive that I was able to dig myself out of the hole medical expenses had caused. If you want to get your money do not use Burr and Ried I suggest you look into collections or. Customer service was phenomenal and very helpful and encouraging. They did not make me feel like I was a criminal
I still do not have a total dollar figure from this scam of a collection agency.
