Broadjam Reviews

Well, perhaps the admins will delete this as it will be a work in progress relating to the broadjam service for song writers. I had been peeoping this site for a couple of months as a free, or "mini memeber" to see what it was like, granted I did not spend a whole lot of time because I love music and have been doing off and on but mainly on for of 30 years, the business aspect ws never my thing, as such I had been burned in the past by shading layers and management which represented acouple of ifferent bands i was in during the 90's, I just didn't care, and signed, I do remeber not liking our first lawyer though 'cause he never bought us enough alcohol, when he took us out. lol. Well my "instinct about him was correect, and I along with rest of the band got sued when we breached contract with him after 6 months, all he had done during that time was loan us a few greand to make a 5 song EP, which did not come close to covering the entire process of printing art, etc. and we had to pay it back in a certain amount of time, he caled a meeting after a trip to EU for some hockey player he represented, and had a whle new contract, where his percentages for everything went way up, piblishing, merch, this that royalities. Obviosuly we said, are you out of your mind, what merch, what publishing, you haven't done s**t, he never said anything except per the first contract, he had a right to do that at anytime, and if we didn't sign, we were inbreech of con"f--off" we all implied, get the f out now.

Obviously he had signed some sort of little deal with some EU label, as i cought wind of a song of ours being in the Belgiian to 10, etc.

But broadjam, as a mini member I saw lots of pretty atrractince payouts, but after i switched to a one one primo member ship, 90% of payouts are "tbd" that is irritating, so far i have only uploaded two low fi tracks from about 10 years ago when i first got into recording, i don't know, I hope i can add to this later, but it seems pretty dead, your paid member ship gets you really nothing at all for free, the site pages don't recognize each other as far as seeing what you have completed, there are a bazillion things you "need" to do, in order to be able to participate in anything, along with pay extra. But again, I didn't read the fine print, and its 20 bucks and two songs "written i n 10 minutes but they are still my babies, the site and the way its set up in general seems super cheap, and also no ofense, and its probably partly me not being up on things, but I'm 45, still lokk great though ladies, A&R folks :-0, but I hardly know these people or who Ithey have worked with, i know some , but still. however, I didn't join for that, I joined to whip out jingles and song ideas to whoever, if I don't know them, which is highly likely for a lot of the "new pop and rap STARS", I'll just go and listen to a song or two, but again, 90% were TBD, some are like equip and software, great but thats it, where's the cash for my creation, and the "equipment" well, its not like musicians friend or something, at those places, they deliver the goods. Have't won but have entered a few.

It just seems like evertime I logged in as a free meber, all payouts were listed rangeing form 500 to 30 k.

Finally i saw one listed for beyonce, they wnted a pro quility instrumental, payout-10k. 10k for beyonce,

Anyway, I'm kinda disappointed with what I've seen now, but hope other more recent members log in and share their experiences. I'll tell you what though, im not ever going to through up a baby, that i put my heart and soul into for a "TBD". seriosly, wtf is that.

Plus its a very low fi type of uploading thing, and graphips, everything.
