Bob Attianese Reviews

  • Oct 7, 2018

Bob Attianese called us out for an estimate and to make an assessment of his inground spa equipment. We reserved our right to refuse or decline service and he maligns our company online! We told Bob there is an $85 service call charge. We showed up on time, spent > 45 minutes assessing his equipment and answering his superfluous questions. Bob stated he had "4 or 5 other companies" out prior to us. Bob told our technician "none of them seems to know anything". Several simply wanted to replace all his equipment. Our technician determined there were only two issues, both relatively minor and inexpensive juxtaposed to buying all new equipment. The gas spa heater needed to be vacuumed out, have chicken wire style mesh installed, order a new keypad or cover the current keypad to prevent water from damaging the temperature control board.

Our technician determined the heater which Bob had been told needed to be replaced, along with other equipment, according to Bob had nothing wrong with it EXCEPT the gas was off at the ball valve on the house meter, and off at the heater. Bother turned on the heater came on and technician ran it for >20 minutes. Technician also found the submersible spa light was shorting and tripping the GFCI. After answering dozens of exhausting questions Bob asked for an email quote. Our office provided a quote per his request.

At no time did Bob ever approve any repairs, instead would call, email or text our office half a dozen times each day for several days at which time we chose to pass on any future relationship with this person. We determined with the time drain and redundant questions, the fact he already wasted our technicians time, our office staffs time, our route managers time, time answering questions he had well exhausted his $85 service call and any work we would do for him in the future would be a mistake We knew at this point this guy would be an absolute nightmare to work for! Bob claimed he obtained "another bid for $350" to repair his spa light. Great Bob, go with them! This isn't an auction!! Even if he approved the work we are certain judging by his past behavior he would be another time drain and drive our repair technician and service technician crazy. Bob also claimed he wanted to sign up for weekly service but was so specific about when we could come, wanted our pool cleaners information, insurance, etc. No thanks, we pass! BTW, Bob, thanks for PROVING OUR POINT, we were right, your review speaks volumes and confirms our decision was correct!

We reserve the right to refuse service to ANYONE! What does Bob do? He takes to yelp to malign our company with a one star review, unearned, undeserved and untrue. Our company attorney has sent this jerk a letter regarding his false statements and review. BEWARE DEALING WITH THIS GUY, if you don't do what he wants, tolerate his incessant pestering and outrageous demands/ questions he will besmirch you too. Here is his review, our only one star review on this profile: I started out excited to have this company do the heater and smaller item repairs on our in ground Spa. I paid $85 for an estimate that I was told would be applied to the bill if they were hired. Brian arrived on time and diagnosed the issue very quickly. He is very knowledgeable and outlines the most cost effective solution. From there the follow up from his administrative person, Steve, was terrible. After he answered some initial questions I was ready to sign the contract. Before I did that I asked for the business license number and proof of insurance. After several follow up calls and emails he never responded to me. I didn't know what was going on because Brian was so forthright I thought this was a standard request. Steve didn't give me the courtesy of a call or email: hard to understand. So I basically lost my deposit.

I can understand your frustration with the word "deposit" that I used on my review. I inadvertently used the wrong word when I said "deposit". I am sorry about that. It was payment for an estimate that I was told I would need to pay upfront, and then if your company did the work, would be applied against the balance.

I am surprised at your other comments; that I would be a nightmare to work with because I asked questions and was getting other proposals. Doesn't a consumer have a right to shop for the best and most cost effective service? I asked Steve if the Co. would consider a better price on 2 items: the price of the light fixture/installation and monthly maintenance. Within a few days Steve gave me an answer and I accepted that. I emailed him and said I was ready to move forward but before I did I wanted to get proof of insurance and the business licence no. These documents are standard business practice: I have never had a problem with this with all the company's I have dealt with in business (hotel and construction finance) and personally. After this request Steve never got back to me. I didn't understand what was going on; he had been a little slow in returning calls before. I was anxious about moving forward so I followed up with 5 or 6 emails/calls over several days: those were the volumes you were talking about. He didn't even have the courtesy to return my communication and tell me what was going. In my 68 years I have worked with many service and construction companies and have rarely experienced this kind of lack of follow up and the aggressive tone in your Yelp comment. As a business owner I am surprised you haven't learned to work through conflicts with a more professional demeanor.
