After migrating a few of my websites to Bluehost, nothing but problems have arisen. I'm appalled at their lack of intelligence or ability to think. I have to repeat everything 10 or 15 times. It was apparent in the first email that they didn't know what was going on or how to solve anything.

) On 1 PRO hosting account I’ve had a website that was extremely slow, so after talking to them, they told me to upgrade to a dedicated VPS service and transfer the domain. They said it would be done in a matter of hours however it ended up taking 5 days of my website being offline without any improvement the website speed after the upgrade. When you start reaching out to their support you start realizing what a horrible company they are. The support staff is inexperienced and tell you different stories the whole time only to meet their quotes and making you spend more money but without actually helping you. I’ve lost more than a thousand dollars on this account and they do not reimburse you for it only of more of their s**+*ty hosting.

) On my second account [SCAM ALERT] they took 3 of my websites offline with the reason that I’ve exceeded their usages limits (even though they say its unlimited usage) because of too big of database size and to upgrade to their PRO account:

I was already on a PRO account

After my developers checked everything it turned out I never exceeded the thresholds of 3000 tables or 5GB anyways.

This means they are just running a scam by taking your websites offline and then offering the solution to get them back online by paying more money to them. My websites were down for 6 days and I’ve lost hundreds of dollars in income, have to pay my developers for all the work they did and NONE of it will be refunded by Bluehost.

I migrated everything away from them and they do not even want to refund my sign-up costs. It is a total scam run but incapable and money-grabbing people whereas the CEO of Endurance group Jeff Fox made $10.000.000 in 2019 alone and the CEO of Bluehost Suhaib Zaheer $2.300.000. Be aware you do not get scammed by them, I’ve warned you.

They are an evil company run by people with zero morals. I am going to report their theft to the FTC, BBB, and law enforcement. I will not go down without a fight and they will regret stealing from me and other affiliates as their reputation sinks in the toilet.

My whole forum crashed on September 18, 2019. When I tried to repair the tables, somehow all the data attached to the table "phpbb_posts" were EJECTED. Hence all the posts were gone! 12 years of posts since 2007 and over 50,000 topic threads were missing! The whole forum was gone!

I quickly contacted Bluehost. They opened a ticket for me and made me wait. It's been 7 days and they still have NOT fixed my forum. At first they didn't even read my ticket and didn't even understand the problem. Talking to them was like talking to people in a third world country, or to primitive AI bots.

I'm appalled at their lack of intelligence or ability to think. I have to repeat everything 10 or 15 times. It was apparent on their first email that they didn't know my forum was empty and data was ejected from tables. They seem lazy to use their brains to think. I feel like I'm talking to a bot, not a thinking human.

After 7 days I received another email from Bluehost. They said they cannot repair my database without a backup copy. And left it at that. But that's not true. They CAN fix my database by hiring professionals from outside. All technical problems are solvable if one is willing to pay the cost and acquire the technical know how. There are many programs that recover deleted files, as we all know. Bluehost simply doesn't want to go through the expense or trouble. Because they are lazy and don't take responsibility for their faulty low quality servers.

They will say it's not their policy and that it is my fault for not backing up my database. It's human nature to blame others and not take responsibility. However, I can make a case that it's their fault too, because 1) my VPS server had no space for backups, and they refused to allow me to upgrade to a higher VPS plan w/ more space or migrate my site to a higher VPS package, 2) they didn't make backups for me like they do for shared hosting, which is cheaper, so I am paying more for less, 3) their servers are defective and low quality, causing my site to crash constantly.

Desired Resolution:

The solutions to fix my database are:

1. Hire a database expert to write an SQL script that will reattach the tables to the lost data. I know the data is still there because the database is still over 2 GB in size, which means all the lost posts must still be there. They just need to be reattached. If they don't have one on staff (which it appears they don't) then they can contract one from outside. They have millions of dollars and can easily afford it.

2. Pay for professional data recovery services. I found 5 companies able to do that which I listed here: http://www.happierabroad.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=329407#p329407

Or reimburse me if I have to contract with those companies for their data recovery services. They gotta pay their fair share man, not try to absolve themselves of all responsibility! At least pay half of the repair costs and stop dodging the responsibility! It doesn't help man!

Or they can pay me damages for 12 years of lost priceless data. About $10,000 would suffice.

But I prefer my forum to be fixed and restored. It'd be much cheaper than paying for damages. They want to get off scotch free for losing my whole forum and 12 years of data, with a mere apology, but that's not acceptable. No way jose. You can't get away with that man!

To Bluehost: Please take responsibility and do what's necessary to repair my database, even if it means contracting outside experts. Your policy doesn't mean crap and doesn't help solve the problem or fix my database, so quoting it is useless. You need to take responsibility for your bad servers and stop making excuses and avoiding responsibility and trying to pin the blame on me! Grow up man!

Man o man everything your reading about this company is true. While we didnt expect much maybe just a replica watch that would be delivered new..that was too much to ask. The watch came with the head adjusment broken off. Thing didnt even work. Took 2 mos to get. One watch they didnt even use glass on the lens it was a plastic that not only leaked but cracked.

Another agressive online chinese company that violates all rules but the most important thing they violate. THEY DON'T CARE NO SERVICE EVEN WHEN WE WROTE THEM 9 TIMES. THEY HAD SOME BS AUTOMATED REPSONSE BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY THEY SCAMMED US FOR $70. SO WE HOPE THIS POST SHUTS THEM DOWN. FBI HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.

So you call in for tech support. Your frustrated as the call is answered onto hold with no human interaciton for 5-9 minutes. This person Paul takes our call and flat out ignores every issue. And constnatly keeps saying he cant here us.

He then looks at the CRM and says "OH I see you called in before asking for a supervisor would you like me to get ANOTHER ONE ON THE PHONE FOR YOU he says with a sarcastic intonnation. So we said sure. You can now figure out what happens.

The call goes into hold for 18 minutes finally "A superivisor name Richard comes online as it seemed fair to say the reason we were on hold so long is so that this person could blackball us as a bad apple to cover ground. We were re-assured that was not the case that this gentlemen named Richard was handling other issues with other customers ( We guess they must have many more just like us) Richard sounded like he was having a hard time with us as he was getting frurstrated because we were venting our concerns.

But he was only interested in trying to figure out how to help us rather than understand the abuse we just underwent.

Turns out our site was fine, it was a google issue to have our site crawled. He even told us "Google has hotline number you can call to fix this faster" What is the number we asked? Reply " You can GOOGLE it!??" Common sense would dictate this is probably a common problem and common sense and basic care would have been. 'Hold on sir let me get that for you or better yet, common sense would be you would have it or know it. But not a Bluehost.

You'll be blue in the face to expect any common sense and basic care let alone to customer close to 10 years. Its truly a 3rd world experience calling blue host. Im sure they'll have fun taking this review down and it will cost them many hours to do so when all they needed to do is demonstrate some BASIC courtesty.

Prior to posting this review, we notice this is just another nightmare of service amongst many. To say BLUEHOST SUCKS IS TERRIBLE IS RUDE ABRAISIVE AND UNHELPFUL AS WELL IGNORANT would be polite way of saying ....... You can figure it out. No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.

The sales rep quoted me a price for services Bluehost would perform to optimize my website. The sales agent asked for card information to confirm availability of funds but said he would need his manager to confirm the sale first. So he said he would go get his manager but then the sales rep came back and said his manager was unavailable at the moment but that he would call me back.

While I was waiting to hear from the manager I decided to do a google search on Bluehost to see where they were listed in the search. To my surprise I did not see Bluehost liste on the first, second or even the third page. So I decided if they couldn't get themselves on one of those pages chances are they wouldn't be able to do for my business. So called the sales rep back, either later that evening or the next morning. I got his voicemail so I left him a message stating I was no going through with their services. The sales rep called me back to ask why and I told about the google search and I said how can you do for me what your company hasn't even done for themselves. He protested and try to get me to change my mind but I said no I felt another company would be a better fit for me. Finally he relented and said he put in the request to refund my money. So that's when I realized that Bluehost had already submitted for payment even though I had not spoken to any manager to confirm the purchase.

So, when I saw my bank still had a pending payment to Bluehost I called and spoke to another person in I guess customer support, I explained to him what had happened and he put on a good show trying to do everything he could to get to the bottom and get my money refunded. After ove 30 minutes in the phone with him I told him I had somewhere to be and needed to go. He said ok he would continue to work on it and send me an email with the resolution. I have yet to receive an email or other communication from BlueHost.

So I then decided to check to see if any complaints had been filed against them, something I should have started with, but again to my surprise I fould numerous complaints on Bluehost. It seems they have developed a practice of frauding companies of their money and they need to be stopped. I feel a class action lawsuit should be lodged against them.

Bluehost did not stop payment request and my bank sent the payment through.

June 9, 2017 I spoke to the Blue Host Customer Service, Katrina and I found out that my Domain Name can still be retrieved by paying Redemption Fee in addition to my whole year subscription. That I still have two more weeks to claim after the expiration date. When I paid whole year subscription with Redemption Fee, the Customer Service, Jeffrey assured me I need to wait for 72 hours and my website will be there.

June 12, 2017 after checking my Domain Name, my website is not there only some error links that appeared on the screen. I called the Company and able to talked to Eric and ask what's going on my website. I beg to do their best because I need my website to be restored and I paid for the Redemption Fee.

I received an email July 5, 2017 at 3:06:58 AM that Blue host is dedicated to ensuring me that my account is secure and reliable. At 5:30:11PM I received an email again that my Account Restore has now been completed. When I immediately checked my domain name my website actual content are not there only some links I cannot understand.

I was so bothered, worried and upset. I called the Customer Service Ivan and I found out that the actual contents of my website was not back up and what I understand they just back up the files of June after I paid up to July. I called again July 27, 2017 spoke with the Customer Service, Quiana until I found out that the company cannot make any remedy for it since "No Backup" files and what appeared on the computer screen "Error establishing a database connection" I express to the Customer Service that my website is so important to me and I'm very upset.

I expense a lot for this online entrepreneurship website prepared and built by nine persons on different companies to make links and business ventures and I hired a Virtual Assistant to manage it monthly. The content is very important, like the blogs, the videos, pictures that taken from different countries and places and monthly payment for subscription of the products attached to it.

There's also established links that connects for donations to serve as a help to the nonprofit organizations that I belonged. Actually, this is my second time having discourageable experience to this hosting company. Our first website was hacked and when reported it, the representative asked certain amount of money to clean up and fix it. We lost our organization website. I dont to take the risk again to use this hosting company.

My company (sole proprietor owned), took a 2 year Bluehost domain account in September 2013. Because the company shut shop in 2014, so one week before auto renewal of the account on September 16, 2015, I asked Bluehost by phone, online chat and via email, not to renew my account. Bluehost asked me to fill a form, which they never emailed to me. I called multiple times (as per cellphone bills), to no avail. My credit card was billed $311.52 in late September 2015, by Bluehost.

I disputed the charge with my credit card company, upon which Bluehost deactivated the account. Due to the limited time, I was not able to win the credit card dispute. Bluehost finally sent me a form for cancellation of the account on November 22, 2015. But they have still not refunded the amount paid - $311.52. I have spent more than 60 hours trying to fight the case with them - all because I did not want to renew my account, but have been unfairly (and illegally?) billed. Not only have I lost 60 billable hours which I had to take from my working hours, but have also felt mentally harassed by the Bluehost team.
