Illinois Media School (F.K.A. Illinois Center for Broadcasting) I attended evening classes in the year of 2012. I wanted to make a career change and was encouraged on several instances that to look into broadcasting. I spent every Saturday creating demos, doughnut clips, PSA's, video montages, blogging, subscribing to a word Press account, state of the art headphones...hell sometimes even being the first to arrive, purchasing props for imagery and creating a host of ideas on the spur of the moment and ad-libbing...I gave it my entire all!! No one can ever say otherwise because I aspired and was at the TOP of my class! I followed the guidance given to me to further improve myself and to the point of where I could mix and engineer my own mini podcasts. I was inflated to believe that I had a strong characteristics to become a true success. I sent revised resumes to veer away from my current work background and played my demo work for anyone who would listen during and after I attended class. I had financial aid and paid out of pocket for what it did not cover.

After having my braces removed to go into the military, I used my FSA benefits that I had left to start another treatment plan for appearance purposes. I was invited to a host of interviews via Skype and in person....but unfortunately, told that I needed a more extensive educational background in Media Arts, additional years of work experience, and also to change my hours of availability. I still did not allow myself to be deterred and just kept going . Then I ran into "we need a Polish speaking person" or "we need someone committed to sales (even though I said ok, there was the roadblock of producing a current sales portfolio that matched their expectations) "...and with that I decided to make a dive to get a degree concentrated on Media Communications (meaning more financial aid). I kept my transcripts because I was very proud of my GPA and rank ...to discover that NONE of it was transferable...no degree, no real vocational certificate, not even noteworthy enough to be valid when you a apply for a Communications related position...and I have close to $20k to pay back to Department of Education. I have not just put my deep sincere efforts into make this a career for myself, I put my faith in beleiving that I made a great choice to attend here. I even inspired my children to possibly look into enrolling here(I'm glad they did not). and to only see and hear that " you get out of it what you put in" is just a blanket statement used to smolder a vicious smoke screen that's silently burning out of control. I was RIPPED and RAPED by this "school"that turned out to be TOTAL B*******!!! Lombard IL
