I purchased this top;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E30-Convertible-Soft-Top-318-325I-3-series-86-93-roof-E-Z-On-Brand-GERMAN/310447472617

for a mint 1992 BMW E30 destined for a collectors auction. I install auto tops for a living and have worked extensively with the EZ-ON brand. The top I received was in no way an EZ-ON product.

It does not have the brushes at the sail panels, it does not have heat sealed deck seams and it does not have an EZ-ON serial tag sewn in at the front of it.

In addition the inner layer that binds the plastic window was done in a NON MATCHING german cloth (red) which was visible from the outside of the window.

The seller attempted to lie his way out of the situation by stating those features had been discontinued because of warranty issues.

This is a lie.

There are a number of records online regarding this seller selling fake tops.

If I was not a career upholsterer I would not have noticed these deficiencies.

If you have purchased an EZ-ON top from this seller and it does not have an EZ-ON tag sewn in at the front to the deck seam, you do NOT have an EZ-ON product!!!

I bought a top for my car and after 2 months time, a seam on a water channel came unglued. The top should be stitched or sealed in this area but wasnt. The glue came apart and flooded my car with 1/2" of water after a storm. I contacted the company and was greeted by a rude manager that accused me of improper installation. What he didnt know was I emailed the company right after installation and said it didnt mount like the factory top and didnt look right., They assured me it was installed correctly. Once I email the manager this email that I saved he stopped talking to me. All he would say was warranty denied. I called the company and they took my name and number and said a manager would call back. After 5 days, no call. I called back and was told the same. I told the rep I was told that last time. He assured me a manager would call within 2 hours. no phone call after 24 hours. I called again and all the rep would say is contact Amazon. I had contacted them already and it was told its out of their time frame. The rep kept trying to tell me amazon handled the warranty even after me arguing that amazon doesn't cover manufacturing warranties. Finally, I gave up, contacted amazon and was told out of their warranty. Called back the 4th time and was told that the manager said not to tell me anything. All I was asking was why it wasnt warranty. I never received an answer. After saying I was going to file negative reviews I was threatened with a lawsuit for extortion. 4 phone calls and 18 emails including replies and I was threatened with harassment. I was never told why the warranty was denied. Not only am I out the price of the top, im out of the water damage to my car and 10 hours of installation time. This is the worst company ive ever dealt with. This is an honest and truthful review with email proof. I have given up on the warranty because of the customer service I have recieved. I just want other buyers to be aware of how this company can be.

I purchased a replacement top from Autoberry online. It was delivered. It was installed with great difficulties due to sloppy manufacturing. Eventually, the installation was completed.

After installation, it was clear that the design of the top was such that the fabric of the top stopped short of the window rain seals. As a result, there is an open pathway for rain/water to enter the compartment.

I contacted Autoberry and was told that despite their advertised warranty and guarantees printed explicitly on their catalog page, they would not assume an responsibility for the top. I was referred to the manufacturer Germanex, Inc.

I contacted Germanex through their website and using an email address provided by Autoberry. Neither company responds to emails.

Upon further investigation, I learned that they had responded to a BBB complaint stating that they had no responsibility for what they sold.

The have had numerous complaints documented in BBB and other cites like this one and so know that they are selling products that are unsuitable for use and are not 100% compliant with OEM specifications. They advertise the defective products with claims of 100% satisfaction knowing that they won't respond. I think that is criminal.

Autoberry and Germanex are incolusion to sell defective products and then not back their guarantees. They are rip-offs and scammers.

Sells trash, rude people, don't care about their trash after sales, a complete rip off.

Claiming tops are made here......Chinese products have better quality.

Claim it is computer cut, yet you can see the white pencil marks where the retard with a scissors missed.

Not to OEM specs, barelly usable I just wasted my money and lots of time on this, This company is not honest is just another SCAM out from Kalifornika

Purchased a convertible top for a 2005 mustang convertible on June 1, 2015. The top is developing hairline crack at a bending point on passenger rear side. AutoBerry would not stand behing their advertized 6 year warranty. Blamed the weakness of the Haartz sail cloth on unrelated and unresponsible items. Please be aware this is not an OEM top, regardless of their advertisement. The top is failing as of November 19, 2015. The original top lasted 10 years. Not only do they not back the warrant they are not nice people. Run away.
