ATI Career Training Center Reviews

I graduated from ATI Career Institute in 2001. I went thru the ultrasound program, graduated at the top of my class. I was also an instructor for ATI 1 year later. Sadly, the truth is that all the way down the ranks from the Director to the janitor, that place is a huge scam. They have you sign a bunch of paperwork asking for financial aid. Instead of you receiving the checks. They have addressed to the school. Where they keep the entire amount, for instance my program was 23000 dollars, yet I was awarded 38,000 dollars. I never saw a penny, and they pocketed the entire amount where I now owe to that money and cannot get a job because the werent accredited. I believe thats called fraud, theft, felony? I want those 15000 dollars!

I started my education with ATI Career Training in 2009 for Medical Assistant. I had to take out two loans totaling 18,000. One loan company they used to apply for my loan was a private lender that was to be paid 6 months after I graduated. ATI promised job placement and an Externship within the medical field. I was shocked to find most students didn't have a GED nor a High School Diploma and most were on probation for felony crimes. Also, I reported staff members and teachers for inappropriate conduct (alcohol, drugs, sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct) my complaints were never reported or looked into.

My education was below my expectations and my Externship was even worse. They sent me to the first site which was at an independent home where I did caregiving. I don't feel caregiving is in the scope of Medical Assistant work but it was relatable in terms of patient care. Someone from my school who was also at that site was caught stealing and they ended the Externship. I was sent on another Externship to another Retirement home to help the event planner who decided to use me to string Christmas lights up and clean the reception area. I was told that they didn't have any Externships available so I was just to help with odd jobs. I complained with my counselor and she refused to do anything about it.

I decided to resign from the Externship until there was an Externship available that stayed within the realm of what I was training to do at ATI. I Started at Victoria Medical which was an accident chiropractor. I did reception work there. It also had nothing to do with Medical Assistant training. Before my graduation I was told to make a resume and apply for a few jobs online in order to graduate. I went back many times to take about job placement before graduation and after and they wouldn't help me with anything in fact the woman there said "they really don't help with job placement, they just say that to get more people to enroll."

I am unable to get a job as a Medical Assistant. Hiring medical offices and hospitals told me that they don't prefer graduates from ATI because of the bad reputation for not providing them with training. The closing of ATI for fraud came less than a year after I graduated. I wasn't able to get transcripts after graduation and was told I there aren't any now that they closed. I feel like all my time and money was wasted at a time in my life where I needed a career and better pay. All that time struggling to go to school full time for 18 months working nights to have nothing to show for it. They took advantage of me. I was told that they were accredited and my transcripts would be accepted at UNM and CNM if I wanted to further my education. I still pay on these loans today.

I attended ATI Cypress Creek/ FT Lauderdale location from 2005-2006. I completed the Medical Assisting program and earned an Invalid "Occupational Associate Degree". I was promised job placement upon graduation which they didn't follow through with. I have yet to taste the fruit of my labor.

Here we are ten years later, $23,000 plus later and countless deferments and forbearences. I'm stuck with this debt , still trying to keep above water. All the pieces of the puzzle are falling in.I have so much to say to the people behind this. You've ruined my life, you've taken my peace of mind, you've robbed me of 18months of my time and left me with a vlifetime of regret.

Now that i know the truth, justice shall be serve. Not just for me, but the many like me that had make hugue sacrifices for big dreams
