Assured Moving Reviews

  • Nov 30, 2015

Avoid Jaison Shangle and his company Assured Moving at all costs! Jaison is a rip-off artist of the first degree and deserves to be in prison. He is a blatant liar, an arrogant crook and one of the most despicable human beings on the planet (and I use the term “human being” quite loosely in this case). He makes many promises and enjoys breaking every one of them just for the thrill he gets from it. In addition to the civil court action I’ve initiated to recoup money Jaison owes me and refuses to pay, I’ve also launched a criminal investigation which is sure to turn up some very nasty findings. Anyone lacking of any moral fiber whatsoever like Jaison is certain to have a substantial criminal background. My wife and I hired Assured Moving, a company owned by Jaison Shangle and his wife, to move from one residence to another in Vancouver, WA. He promised to supervise the move himself but went into hiding. He claimed to have hurt his wrist the day before but there is no way that would have prevented him from supervising his workers as he promised. His movers damaged many pieces of our furniture and he refuses to pay for the damages. He kept saying he would reimburse us time after time just to string us along. We made over 30 calls to him and his wife over a two month period, each time saying he would pay us but never did. Both he and his wife seemed to get a morbid sense of enjoyment from the stress they were putting on my wife with their myriad lies and lame excuses at a time when they knew my wife was already being over-stressed by an unrelated family event. His deplorable actions indicate that he is most likely neither insured nor bonded, because if he did have $1 million in insurance as he boasted, he would have settled long ago. I did not find out until after the move that Jaison had been fined as part of a sting operation for operating his moving business illegally earlier in the year. This would have been a serious red flag that would have stopped me from hiring Jaison. Jaison and his wife prey on people who want to save money on moving expenses. Like most con men, Jaison comes across as very personable when he tells you how great a deal he can give you on a move. For starters, he promised to provide two trucks and four workers for our move. He provided only one ill-equipped truck and three guys. Since we were only moving one mile between old and new residences, he stated that paying the extra money for the 2nd truck and four workers instead of the normal two would give us the perfect move. He said it would allow them to move all of our belongings without having to stack pieces of furniture on each other. He then instructed his workers to stack our furniture as high as they could and they damaged several pieces of our furniture because of it. His main guys spent a tremendous amount of time cramming things into the truck with no regard for the damage being done, while the extra guy wasted his time watching them. Jaison was incredibly rude and arrogant when he was preparing his estimate for our move, telling us that he has never made a mistake estimating. After the fact, we realized he was anything but a good estimator. He grossly underestimated the equipment needed, the money, and the time that would be required. At the end of a very hectic and troublesome day, the movers casually said: “Well. I’m sure you guys won’t mind moving the rest of the stuff yourself to save you some money, right?” We had to rent a truck and finish the move ourselves the next day. Jaison laughed it off as if it was nothing! Last week, I posted a negative review of Assured Moving on their Facebook page. The following day, we had an unsettling event at our new home. I got a call from one of our neighborhood watch residents reporting they saw someone casing our home from our backyard. The intruder was scared off by our neighbor’s dog before we could catch him. This was a very rare occurrence in our upscale, calm and quiet neighborhood and we feel it was more than just a coincidence that it happened the day following my negative review of Jaison’s business and his underhanded business practices. We had to spend several hundred dollars beefing up our security system because of this incident so we can feel safe.
