A salesperson from Aptive Environmental came to my house on or near 8/20/18 and offered a service that would rid our property and home of insects and bugs such as box elder bugs, asian lady bugs, spiders, and wasps. They applied the first treatment and charged us an initial fee of $52.49. They then came out and applied their treatment on 9/17/18, 12/5/18, and 3/19/19 and charged $106.05 on each of those visits.

After the 3/19/19 visit I called to cancel the service because I still had multitudes of Asian ladybugs and boxelder bugs in and around my home and didn't want to waste any more money on this pointless service. I was told I had to pay for one more treatment per our contract, that I never received a copy of, or I would be billed an "Early Termination Fee" of $175.

I told them that their service wasn't working as advertised and I wasn't going to waste anymore money on this sham. They said if I didn't pay the early termination fee, I would be turned over to a collection agency. Yesterday, they sent me a bill for $180 that says "Initial Discount Reimbursement", which I will not be paying.

There are over 500 complaints by other customers on the BBB website. This company is a sham, it scams people, locks into a direct debit agreement to tap money from your account for their bogus service. The two other times their reps have tried to apply the 4th treatment around our house they admitted that the sales people just tell customers what they want to hear, that they will be rid of all kinds of bugs but in fact they're service only gets rid of certain kinds of bugs - not the kind I had wanted to get rid of, and that the sales rep had lied when selling us this service - so the company is committing fraud as far as I'm concerned.

They were supposed to bill $99 every 3 months...They started to sneak in extra charges to my credit card, sometimes monthly, sometimes every 2-3 months....Terminix told me their products are NOT more environmentally friendly than any others.....AVOID AT ALL COST....They are impossible to reach via phone

Aggressive & Belligerent Door to Door Sales

One of their super awful young people showed up at our home today from the Orlando location. He could not have been a bigger ass. No respect for me or our property.

I posted a review on Google and Yelp. I also filed a complaint with the BBB. I highly recommend everyone file BBB complaints.

I talked to some neighbors this evening while biking. He was still out knocking on doors. He gave different stories to other neighbors. He stayed in our neighborhood for several hours and went back around and knocked on doors again, including doors where people had already told him no.

People really have to check reviews before signing up for anything door to door. There’s a $250 cancellation fee I discovered while reading google reviews on Aptive Environment.

In a year span, my family has lost two beloved, precious dogs named rocky and bella who were family, not pets. In september of 2018 after getting sprayed for winter by aptiv, rocky went outside, happy and healthy. Not more than twenty minutes later he was severely seizing and had to be carried inside and put down a few hours later.

We couldn't figure out why and mourned the loss to this very date. September 2019 after the routine spray, bella went outside and collapsed and started seizing uncontrollably and injuring her neck very badly. There was a noticeable "puddle" of liquid this time. After a phone call, the person who sprayed said there "might have been a slight spill".

Deceptive pitch to wife, not impressed with quality of work

Door to door salesmen convinced wife that all neighbors were getting service which condo association

indicated was not correct. Local constable stopped any further solication. We are 78 and 83 years and

have already paid $109 dollars and they want $199 to cancel which we can nor afford.

This company is running a scam. An Aptive employee approached our home while we were outside doing yard-work and offered us pest control at $129 quarterly, which seemed reasonable at the time. They said they were "running a special" in the neighborhood and that the $129 quarterly was a 'neighborhood rate.' The first time they came out to spray the experience seemed okay. An Aptive employee sprayed the exterior of the home and left a card with the employee's name and the area he sprayed. The other side of the card appeared to be more marketing oriented. In fancy lettering was a request from Aptive; they asked that if we were happy with the employee and his work, would we go to google, write a 5-star review, and mention the employees' name. If we did all this, the employee would get a $5 bonus from the company. Reading this card was my first red flag. I knew something didn't seem right about their tactics. The company is leveraging social media and trying to get hundreds of 5-star reviews by exploiting their low wage employees. If they really wanted to track employee quality, then they could just run a survey on their website. Of course, after the first visit and after they get your review, the service deteriorates dramatically. They don't return phone calls; their product doesn't work, the employees become careless when they have to come out multiple times, and they have a contract that locks you in, even though their product doesn't work. I still have one spray remaining but other online reviews suggest the company will keep charging your card even if you cancel. The company has very shady sales and business techniques.

We hired them when a salesman came by and offered a special promotion. We signed up and gave them a chance to prove their services. After the first application we noticed that there were mice running around in our house. We never had mice ever before. We purchased some D-con mouse traps and caught several mice right away.

We complained about the mice and they offered to spray again. However, after the second appllication we had mice again! We complained again to Aptive and they wanted to set mouse traps. I told them that I didn't like this idea and I don't want any more services. They offered us another treatment and we said no thank you since your product attracts mice. MY wife is really upset with them. They told us we would have to pay a rather large cancellation fee if we cancelled early.

This is a problem in that the salesman stated that if we did not like the service we could cancel at any time. Now this becomes an act of fraud since they are not honoring the right to cancel at any time. My wife doesn't want them to come back and I don't want them to come back. Their service makes our situation much worse than before we met them. Aptive is telling us that we have to make things worse before we can cancel.

This is the worst service I have ever seen and their customer service is severely lacking.

THEY CLAIM THAT YOU WILL BE BILLED ONLY $99 QUATERLY, WHICH WOULD EQUAL ROUGHLY $25 PER MONTH, BUT IN REALITY THEY WILL BILL YOU $99 PER MONTH, THEWN WHEN YOU CALL THEY WILL SAY YOU SIGNED CONTRACT AGREEING TO THIS

The first service with Aptive was as promised, unfortunately they fell off drastically thereafter. Our second appointment we thought was missed, so we called, and they informed us they sprayed the outside of the house, and we then requested they spray the inside. Our third appointment we had to push them to get someone out to spray the inside, during the call they tried to tell us we did not need it.

The fourth visit was not by appointment, and I found out they were at the house with a Ring notification. They entered our backyard without an appointment or permission. I called to find out what they could have possibly done in the 7 minutes they were at the house. I was assured they were there for 32 minutes, but our CCT system and Ring both showed them at the residence for a total of 7 minutes.

After this series of missteps we called to tell them that we were not paying for the last quarter since services were not rendered. We received heavy push back, and threats if we did not pay. To rid ourselves of this company and it's false to predatory practices, we told the person on the phone to cancel all future services.

Today we received a bot call telling us that our home is scheduled for service this week, and if we needed the inside sprayed to call and schedule it for another day. This generated another call informing them we already cancelled and if they showed up, they would not be paid. I was sent to a 'manager' and she told me there were no notes about us requesting a cancellation of services. While she was very apologetic and sincere sounding, I no more believe we are cancelled now than when we made our last payment three months ago.

I will now be penning a letter to the company demanding a cancellation of services dating back to our last check (the date we originally cancelled), as well as a letter to the Utah AG office notifying them of Aptive’s deceptive business practices.

I was quoted a price of $129.00 by telephone on July 3rd On July 12th, when the exterminator showed up this morning, he wanted me to sign a contract. I asked him to explain the contract which was the initial fee of $129 then seven more at $129.00 each. I told him most likely I would only need one or two more. I told him I wasn't initially told about this. He said if I didn't sign then he couldn't perform the job. Oh how lovely! I took the day off of work to have this service done. It is nothing but a scam. They should disclose this initially. I see that there has been 400 plus complaints with the Better Business Bureau with this company, and it is no wonder why!

I've done the Aptive Environmental pest control program for a year and I didn't wanted to renew it. I called the company and asked to cancel my plan before it automatically renewed. I was oriented to wait until July to cancel it, so I don't lose their service warranty.

They would schedule the next service and I could just cancel it. And that's what I did, except they never sent me the schedule. They just showed up at my house while I was away and sprayed it. I had things that I cleaned the day before that were drying in my backyard, and they sprayed over them.

Now I'm being charged for a service I didn't agreed to and I'll have a hard time to clean my things from their chemicals.

No show and no call from Aptive Environmental

Our first experience with Aptive Environmental was yesterday when they called for our appointment at 11:30 am - 1:30 pm and said they were 30 minutes out at 11:00 am and then never showed up. I called their main number and got the same recorded message that their customer service representatives are busy with other callers and to leave a name, address, phone number and reason for the call and they will get back with you that day if its before 4:00 PM. I never received a return call. I also called the phone number that called me to let me know they were only 30 minutes out and received no answer and left a voicemail and they did not call back either. I called the sales rep. that sold us on Aptive Environmental at 3:00 pm and he was very nice and said they should be there by 3:30 pm but would cal to verify it and call me back and he never called back too. We are very disappointed and did a lot work inside the house to get ready for them and waited around all day, thinking they would be there even later than the appointment time. Now we have no idea why they did not show up but since we were adamant about not giving them our credit card information or a payment until they came out and did the work. I have called them and left another message informing them that I'm cancelling my contract with them for not abiding to it, based on not meeting the appointment date and hope they don't try to sue me over it. .

Aptive pest control a scam

Just showed up at my door and tried to tell me my stepson and son had asked them to come by to get rid of spiders! B/S my stepson nor my son had asked anyone to stop by my house! Besides Cooks treats my house every month and does a good job. This company must be getting all of references off social media. Please beware of Aptive sales reps! They lie!!!!!!!!!!

Been promised by sale representative and the technician that would be able to take care the bees issue of my house, but the local branch represtation told me that aptive did not guartee the bees issue, I have to hire another pest control to take care the bees issue that I have. If I cancel the contract , there is $140.00 penalty.

I have been contacted the aptive 1-800 customr service numerous times, been promised would forward my complain to the local branch and someone would call me,

but no one call. I also called the the local New Jersey branch , been promised , the supervisor would call me,

no one call!!!! I have been punished and penalized $140.00 for Aptive's wrong doing.

It is wrong , it is fraud , it is scam!!!

From the first service the customer service was awful. No communication between their office and their technician. No initial information meeting with property owner, myself, as to what was to be done.

Products do not work I'm paying $100 a pop to have more bugs come into my home than Ive had in the past 13 yrs I've lived there, all they offer is to come back free of charge in between regular services. The initial solicitor that came to my door went to all my neighbors using my name to say I bought their service. Predatory practices. One sided contracts.

No help from company! I have documentation and emails from this company and they are quite rude. DO NOT USE! Class action lawsuit needs to be inacted against this company.

My name is ... and I just spoke with cassie one of st louis aptive environmental representatives about my account I have with and I'm extremely upset that I was not informed that I was paying so much a year. I'm a single mom of disabled twins and I can not afford to pay for services every 3 months and I just got the email stating I owe 109$ for this treatment your company did when I was under the impression I only paid 100$ a year for 3 treatments not pad 109 every 3 months. I'm very upset over this as I have important medical bills for my son who is fighting for his life right now and your customer service agent I spoke with threatened to send me to collection cause I said I'm not paying the 109 nor the early termination fee that I was not made aware of when I signed on for service. I'm very upset over this whole situation because I have given your company my banking information and each time you have stolen money from me without my knowledge. I will be getting an attorney for this situation and you will be hearing from them. If this matter isnt taken care of I will follow through on Suing your company. I have seen this over to the company numerous times and not one manager has tried to contact me regarding this situation. I'm very upset as to I just checked my email and still I see no response but I do see another bill sent from them.

Do not trust Aptive Enviromental. Sales person shows up at door. I said I was looking for someone to spray my crawl space on a regular basis. He looked at it and called the office and agreed to do the job. Never sprayed the crawl space. Lady at office just said we don't do crawl spaces. Sales person said we have special truck with powerful sprayer to do it with. They also said they would get spider webs under the eves and didn't do that . So I cancelled the service and they took $130 out of my bank account. Said that was to cover the discount on the first service. Do not sign anything with these people. I asked 3 times to spray for fleas, like the whole yard has to done, and it’s too much work, apparently. So I had to buy product myself $24 and do it myself. So why would I want to continue paying $136 for a crappy watered down product that probably wasn’t even applied. As far as I’m concerned that’s a breach of contract on their part so I pd my balance with one crappy service left in the contract but asked to CANCEL. I had to request it over and over and over and over and over. But they show up anyway and trespass and spray watered down crap, I assume. Who knows. But I don’t need them spraying my yard when I e already taken care of it. Thankfully I had gotten a new C.C. and they couldn’t auto charge me. And I ain’t paying the new balance. My online account has services scheduled right through the end of the year. If a company has to get and keep customers by luring them into a contract and auto-stealing money from bank accounts because the product and service sucks, well that’s not my problem. Anyone w an issue should have their bank put a block on any transactions from Aptive.

Two immature individuals (One by the Name Monte) came to my house Saturday 8th July 2017. They told me that there were several in the community who had signed up for their service for exterminating rats. They offered a discounted price of $49. The amount charged was double. Moreover, the service is for one year, with all sorts of clauses. I agreed to the clauses had the service been to my satisfaction. They are completely unreachable even to discuss the credit card issue, let alone the terrible service that was provided. They set a couple of mouse traps and sprayed something that is no better than RAID. It was nothing close to the service that was provided. Anyway, they are not responding and are all set with my credit card info. Please BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. DO NOT LET ANY OF THEM NEAR YOUR HOME. You are better off with rats than these actual vermin.

So Glad I Read These Reviews!

Austin with Aptive came to my door today (Northern Utah) and was very high pressure sales. Polite, respectful, but also high pressure and insisted on locking things down before discussing with my spouse which I told him I would need to do. Offered $19 initial treatment and $99 quarterly since his “trucks would be in my neighborhood“. He named off the last names of neighbors he was also “working with“ and said this is a “community effort to rid our neighborhood of bugs and pests”. Whew! I refused to sign or schedule anything before speaking with my husband. I detest these door to door panic, trying to making you light your hair on fire impulsively making a decision so you don’t miss out on the “opportunity of a lifetime” garbage! I am so glad to have found and read through these reviews! My gut was insistent on saying NO and I’m very glad I listened. He refused to give me his contact information to let him know our decision, which is a huge red flag. He took my number and said he would call tonight at 9:00 pm. Red Flag #2. And I’m so sad to read about the sweet dogs that passed from their “spill”. I will protect my pupper and send these scammers packing! Beware these high pressure sales people! They are not confident in their products so they have to try making you feel panicked like you’re going to miss this one time only offer in order to “lock you down” in some crappy contract before you read up and learn about how awful they are! We just had a visit from a 21 yr old young man at our front door. He kept ringing the doorbell and then started banging repeatedly on our door. He let his white segway roll into our river rock landscaping and on top of a heather plant that i recently replaced. We have a doorbell cam so we got it all on video and i saved the clips. I was in the middle of eating my lunch which is another reason we have a no soliciting sign just above our doorbell cam.

I was going to use the doorbell app to tell him there's a no soliciting sign right there above the doorbell and to leave our property but then saw his segway in our landscaping. So i went to the door and called to him on the sidewalk in front of our garage. He persisted in trying to sell me bug spray. I let him know i didn't like him letting his segway roll into my landscaping.

So i went out to the street and called to him from my driveway to a driveway across the street. He would not answer me. I walked to the driveway and asked him for a card for my husband. He said he didn't have anything to give me. I asked him for the name of his company and he refused to tell me. I told him again we have a no soliciting sign just above the doorbell cam. He didn't give a rat's ass.

I asked him to show me some sort of id for his company, or a permit, anything to prove his legitimacy. He said he didn't have to give me anything and told me to get a life. I started recording him as he went up the driveway to my neighbors' home where he once again told me to get a life. I have that on video.

I called the sheriff and two deputies arrived quickly in our cul de sac. They talked to him. They acknowledged he's very aggressive. All they could do was tell him to not knock on doors with no soliciting signs and to not come to our home again. Our neighbors aren't happy with him either. The deputies gave me the name of the company, so here i am.

I tried calling the company. 3 options...Existing customer, get a quote, cancel service. Couldn't get through to anyone except the quote/sales people. I told him why i was calling and asked for a supervisor. The jerk transferred me right back to the memo options.

I just filed a complaint with the orlando bbb. The company is based in utah.

A company's sales representatives are the face of the company. Based on my experience with aptive environmental and their failed contact system, this company is not anyone we would ever want to do business with or doing work on our property. We will not ever call them for any kind of service.

Just found out aptive environmental has been in trouble before...

Harrisburg -- attorney general josh shapiro today announced that his office has reached a $101,430 settlement with aptive environmental, llc, a utah-based pest control company with regional offices in pittsburgh and philadelphia. The company used deceptive business practices while engaging in door-to-door solicitation in western pennsylvania.

I'm online researching DIY natural pest control. By coincidence, young guy shows up at door and hubs listens to him. Says he has 'ag license' and a 'crew.' Hubs asks for biz card, which young guy doesn't have. Tells him to come back in a while. Back in less than 30 min, ringing doorbell and knocking on door. Hubs has lung disease and doesn't need any toxins around him. So guy says they use all natural stuff. Finally, gets the name of company ... optive.com ... and gets guy to leave again. No such website as optive.com.... and I find this instead. THANK YOU ALL FOR POSTING HERE!! -- Grateful in San Antonio TX

Canceling Aptiv Not Easy

I fell for their sales pitch two years ago, and quite honestly I'm not convinced their product is better or worse than the pest service I had previously, I only know I have more snails this spring/summer than I have ever seen in my life. That could be, however, due to the raccoons and the opossum not coming into my yard anymore. Who knows. What I do know is Aptiv emailed me at 4:00pm on a Friday to let me know they would be coming the next day on Saturday, and I immediately responded to please push out the visit until another time and to not come on Saturdays since that is our time to be home and out in our yard. (The time prior, they showed up, I heard the technician coming through the gate and so was trying to round up my dogs and pig to get them inside... and the guy bypassed the backyard all together, but still charged the regular fee). Apparently, the technician didn't get the message that I requested the service be moved to another time, and so he came. That Monday I received a response back via email that they didn't receive my request in time, and I responded to her that I would like to cancel their service and close my account. She responded that they only can take a cancellation via voice over the phone. When I tried calling, there were long waits on hold (I tried several times), and the one time I reached a live person she asked why I was calling and when I told her I wanted to cancel my service she dropped the call. When I tried back again, I was able to get into a different hold pattern, and was given at least the opportunity to leave a message, and so I told them I wanted to cancel my service, and it really had nothing to do with them until up until their most recent behavior. No one has returned my call. The most recent email back from them completely disregards my request to cancel and close my account, and she says I am eligible to skip a service in any one year term. That's great. I'd prefer if my many messages to them (there are two on the app, and one on the website, and at least 3 via email) would be answered professionally and they honor my request. Seems simple enough.

I started recording him as he went up the driveway to my neighbors' home where he once again told me to get a life. I have that on video.

I called the sheriff and two deputies arrived quickly in our cul de sac. They talked to him. They acknowledged he's very aggressive. All they could do was tell him to not knock on doors with no soliciting signs and to not come to our home again. Our neighbors aren't happy with him either. The deputies gave me the name of the company, so here i am.

I tried calling the company. 3 options...Existing customer, get a quote, cancel service. Couldn't get through to anyone except the quote/sales people. I told him why i was calling and asked for a supervisor. The jerk transferred me right back to the memo options.

I just filed a complaint with the orlando bbb.

A company's sales representatives are the face of the company. Based on my experience with aptive environmental and their failed contact system, this company is not anyone we would ever want to do business with or doing work on our property. We will not ever call them for any kind of service.

Just found out aptive environmental has been in trouble before...Found multiple lawsuits...

Harrisburg -- attorney general josh shapiro today announced that his office has reached a $101,430 settlement with aptive environmental, llc, a utah-based pest control company with regional offices in pittsburgh and philadelphia. The company used deceptive business practices while engaging in door-to-door solicitation in western pennsylvania.

When called to schedule more services because initial didn’t work. Appt was scheduled and then cancelled because they didn’t have a tech to come out. So rescheduled but nobody showed up. Called to complain so rescheduled. We’ll see if they show up

DO NOT SIGN WITH THIS COMPANY

THANKS TO YOUR REVIEWS, I WAS ABLE TO CANCEL THE SERVICE BEFORE THEY STARTED -within 24 hours of signing the agreement. I did not give them any payment information because she asked for a canceled check - which was the second red flag. HOWEVER, after calling to cancel the service, a driver for the company called me saying that she was trying to find my house. I informed her that I canceled the agreement. She said okay and hung up. I was not looking for a pest control company - the representative appeared at my door - the first red flag. I informed the representative that I wanted to check the reviews first before paying. Thank you for sharing that information and I am so sorry for your agony brought on by this company. With so many negative reviews how are they still allowed to operate?

The salesman sold my wife a single application or so she thought. It was actually a contract and they keep charging my bank account. These guys run this scam of telling people it's for one application. You sign for the application but it is actually a contract to continue to show up and keep charging you. With substantial fees to get out of the contract.

I have reached out to try and cancel their service and they try to charge me to get out. They don't care that they sold the product under false pretenses.

This company is illegally trespassing in our community and the representatives refuse to provide identification or information from the company to show proof they are valid, each time we have requested this information. We believe they are preying on our vulnerable children and profiling our community for illegal transactions. Our community has signs posted notifying that we're private property and there's no soliciting, each of our HOA board members has expressed this and they seem to ignore our rules.

Somehow they illegally got contracts from unsuspecting residents and they are falsifying that they have a right to be in our community. They do not have a right on private property when there is signs posted. Our community is unsafe with this company trolling our community on a hover board and staking our neighborhood in there company vehicles after we have repeatedly requested that they leave the premises. I am the HOA board president of Village of Bent Creek Homes

Aptive is scamming people in Torrance CA area BEWARE AND DON’T SIGN UP WITH

Guy named Spencer comes late in the evening stating he has a good deal to offer on pesticides to protect your home. Pitches that he is giving you a large discount on services. Wants you to sign contract and give credit card information or bank check information. DO NOT PROVIDE ANY FINANCIAL INFORMATION. APTIV is a scam. They are attempting to lock you into paying for services for a year or two that are no good. This company is bad news, stay far away from them at all costs

liars and no service excellents

I was a emplyee of this company in houston texas and only spent about 3 days to see that they was a joke . i was working with them in july 2020 during covid 19

there was a note on there front door that said mask must be worn before coming inside .

when i went inside no one protected them selves .

well to say the least they wanted you to go out with a trainer for a few days to see what they do .

ididnt have a issue with that until they put 4 grown men in a small nissan frontier truck we was so closwanted us to le that i could see everyones pupils and we was all sweeting .we did that on a thursday and friday and when i came to work that saturday it was the same way put 1 adult and then had to take my vehicle to a parking lot and leave it all day .

then while we was out sericing homes must of the customurs didnt know we was showing up they never got a call and they was very upset ,but managment wanted you to tell the customer we was in the area and thought we would stop by to do there treatments .

most of the customers was not happy and said that they cancealed service a while back and that aptive owes customers money .

they also dont do what they say they going to do for the customer its just to see what the numbers are about ,they mostly treat the outside with a back pack sprayer wich is a really a joke .

it doesnt put enough product out to treat or kill anything .

they say during training they power spray thats a lie.

well for me and the way i was treated as a emplyee i got 1 shirt and had to supply my owns pants 1 shirt to last 5 days and they expected you to was that 1 shirt everyday.

then a few days later i came down with covid 19 and have been very sick sence that time .

i had the respect to call them and no answer i even sent out a message to the boss that hired me issaac aquirre.

never did he respond .

so i contacted donald that did acknowledge my message i sent to let them know that i had tested postive for covid .

after all that was done this company didnt even pay me for my time i was in training for this showed me that they didnt care about there emolyees either

i usually dont put stuff out negative about a company but these people are a joke from day one .

i still havent heard from these people about my pay and probably wont see it but thats ok .

i will just keep writing bad reviews until im statified .i was was also told that this company ..

well i think i will stop and post another one later .
