Amy Romandine Kratz, MD Reviews

  • Jan 14, 2019

I am a type 2 diabetic. Dr. Amy Romandine-Kratz put me on a pill, predrisolone, for some tight back muscles. The first night I was blind. I couldn't see my hand in front of my face. When I called her office the next day her message was for me to "ride" out the pills since it was only for 6 days. At the end of that 6 days I wasn't much better. My head felt like it was going to explode.

When I tried to see her I was told she couldn't fit me in and that I should go to urgent care. Long story short, lab work showed my blood sugar was at 533 and my A1C was at 10.8 . Before this pill my blood sugar varied between 83-99 and my A1C was at 6.8, "perfect" to use this doctor's word. The doctor in urgent care said that I was lucky to be alive and that the problem was from these pills.

She admitted me to the hospital. The doctor over there agreed with her about being lucky to be alive and the pills being the cause. Again, long story short, I am seeing a specialist that is a 45 minute drive one way to try to counter the problems that I am now having. The specialist says that the reason I went blind and felt like my head was going to explode is that my blood sugar was probably in the 700-800 range while on the pills.

NOW, this so-called doctor claims that she warned me about the side effects.STRAIGHT UP LIE !!!! If she had I wouldn't have taken them.ALSO; my sister checked and the side effects are such that this would be the LAST pill that you would prescribe to a diabetic. UNLESS, you WERE trying to kill him. I am on more pills for the diabetes to try to bring my blood sugar numbers and A1C number down, along with medicine for high blood pressure.

I have constant leg pain, I'm told it is nerve pain from this. My vision sometimes gets blurry and I have headaches constantly. NONE of these problems were evident until I was put on this pill. I do NOT know if this doctor thought up the lie herself (about warning me about possible side effects) OR if the hospital told her tell the lie. Either way, if you are a patient of this doctor or thinking of being one, you should give serious thought if this is the kind of person you want making major decisions about your well-being.
