American Residential Warranty Reviews

  • Sep 30, 2023

I have been paying for this sence 2021 for a Home warranty that covers any break downs and the first time I go to file a claim they give me the run around. They tell me they don't have anyone in my area that can do the work, this has been going on for a month and a half. Every time I call them they tell me the same thing They also tell me that I can get someone to do the work but I would have to pay them and send them the bill to get paid back, That is not what I paid for, I paid them for a service so I would not have any other out of pocket expense. All I am asking is to recive the service I have paid for.

This Company does not give any professional customer service.

They will will have you waiting with no response.

They do not give you full disclosure as to what the cover. Leave you guessing

And they do not give Contracts so that they will not be held accountable.

American Residential Warranty, TMI Solutions, American protection plan fake insurance company, get a plan.com. Rude, Nasty, Uneducated, None Licensed Loser Criminals and liars I purchased the Electronic and Appliance Plan, They stole my TV, and haven't replaced it, or repaired it, or gave me a buyout.

First of all these people are not licensed to sell in California or anywhere but Florida, These people refuse to give me a contract or anything I can read about this warranty terms and conditions, I found out why the contract they have is outdated and non-valid it is by TMI Solutions LLC , which is presently out of business in GA. April 12th2021, I called put in a claim; woman was nicely lying about everything.

She said per advertising you can use your own tech, LIE! My TV was taken by their partner criminals in LA, came in and took my TV and never brought it back I am in the process of calling the police and reporting it stolen. The tech, just came in and took my TV I had to ask for some kind of proof of where he was taking my TV, which is 4 hours away from.

So that’s a lie no you cannot use your own tech. Lie #2 after they get your property you will never see your property again! Bye Bye! Here comes the scam, they will run you around back and forth for as long as you deal with them. They never ever have any intentions of repairing, replacing or even wanting to ever talk to you again.

Lie #3 They will always say your property is not repairable, always that is the scam, the insurance company assurion will pay, but they won’t tell them the truth, whatever this scam is it’s between the repair people and the extended warranty company. American Residential Warranty Charged me for 12 months, and stole my TV right out my house never ever gave it back, and I still don’t have my TV today is May 3rd 2021, They can keep the TV it’s in LA with the Covid I don’t want it back I want my TV replaced.

They wanted to offer me a buyout for not even enough to get a 25” TV, If they scam you and don’t honor the warranty, call the local police department, they will tell you it’s civil so what you get a report, then Federal Trade Commission report Fraud, Your local Attorney General’s office, Secretary of State report them see if they are even license to do Business in your State, they were not license to do coverage in the State of California.

File a Report with your local BBB, to be put on the Fraud Alert instead of the lying BBB non-accredited report. Google how to report scam companies and get busy, don’t just let these uneducated losers take your money and your property. The smart thing to do as a scammer somebody that will gather information and bring attention to your scam that person I would just replace the TV, that's it.

They will melt if you mention recording a call or them emailing you with proof of the warranty to ask for your warranty they never game me anything just kept charging me and finally took my TV and had someone ignorant burping agent in my ears when I told them my claim number. Once they got my property and my money they just started being rude and hanging up in my phone in my ears.

Once I heard the burping in my ears and the non-talking agent that could not speak proper English only mumbling. I just want my TV replaced like you said you would do. Stole my money and my TV, and refuse to repair or replace my TV or give me a buyout

I have an iPad that was having a charging issue. After trying several cords both apple and off-market, it would not charge.

I took it to Apple who tested it and told me the charging port was defective. As I have electronics protection, I filed a claim and paid the deductible. I sent it in only to get it back with a "new" screen. The original screen was NOT defective.

However, the "new" screen immediately separated from the unit. I sent it back a second time. Once again, all they did was fix the screen and did not address the charging port. This has been going on since August.

The third time it went back again for the charging port, they kept it 2 days and said they were sending it back "as is". They stated it was locked and on the cloud. The last time they told me to send it back, they only sent me a label, no paperwork to fill out. And the reason for that was I was told "they aren't interested in fixing it" but they need the unit in hand to replace it. I sent it back again.

They sent me an email stating that the claim was going forward and an agent would call. That did not happen as I never received that call. Ten days later I called them and that's when I was told they weren't interested in fixing it.

After I sent it in, two days later, they returned it (mid-November), they stated because it was locked. I have it back - still not fixed - they want my cord. This is all just stall tactics and ridiculous. They stated it was locked and on the cloud and tried multiple times to get a hold of me. A total fabrication as I had NO messages, NO calls and oh wait, NO emails. They knew how to email me once but couldn't do it again.

The issue is it won't charge TO unlock. In all the times this went back to them, they sent paperwork to fill out. The last time they didn't. It doesn't charge with ANY cord, apple or not.

Today I called and asked for a refund on my deductible which they refused to issue because work was done on it.

However, the work that was done was not correct. It was not the work requested and now I have had to replace the unit because "I" am not interested in continuing this farce of sending this iPad back and forth.

I purchased a refurb'd iPad and spent the money for the deductible and have been dealing with this farce since August.

I will be looking for another warranty company. I pay them religiously each and every month. I know they just don't replace an item but when Apple states it would be difficult to fix why would they? And to make matters worse, they NEVER addressed the charging port issue which is what it was sent in for. They replaced a screen that there was not a thing wrong with AND the screen they repaired came in separated from the unit.

I used to deal with Asurion from DirecTV and never had an issue but now this is pathetic.

Purchase this warranty to cover all of plumbling, appliances, hvac, and computers, etc to make it easily on me. I am on S.S. only. Was told that this company had a large list on contractors that would answear calls within 48 hours of request for service. Call this company for 5 days and told they could not find plumbler. On Friday they did send someone but he was not told the real reason he was here. He was told to check the sewer line. The complaint I had was the a commode was leaking around the edge when flushed and the sink was slow driaining. He told that he had to call the company and then he would call me. Late Friday evening the contractor call me and informed me that all he was getting from the company was the run around. This company has lied to me concerning their service and ability. I increased contract to cover all of my home equipment. this was 30.00 more. on the 29th 30.00 was posted to my bank acct, then again on the 30th of May 89.00 was posted to my bank. I feel that I should be refunded the 30.00 and this month 89.00. I know that the first 59.00 is gone has it has been greater than 30 days. I feel that the 59.00 should be return also but I do know this not able. I feel this company is a con and should be put close down. I know that you may not be able to anything about this matter but, at least it may stop other family from getting ripped off.

I purchased a home warranty agreement for my home from American Residential Warranty. This was in December of 2017.

This company charges a monthy fee to cover unexpected and expensive repairs to appliances or systems in the home.

In the early part of May this year 2018 I noticed water dripping from the condensate line of my A/C. There was quite a discharge of water,so I called Ameican Residential Warranty early morning at about 7 AM. The person on the other end gave me a service number and a phone number to call. She said that she would be emailing the company with the service request and I should call the number after 10 minutes.

I called the number and ended up with a voicemail system which then asked me to leave a message by calling a totally different number.

I was really puzzled, having expected to hear from a real person. I called American Residential and was told that the company does not open till 10 am. Called at 10 am and setup an appointment for later that evening. The technician arrived and I heard to listen really hard since the fellow barely spoke any English. I explained the problem to him and then we walked over to the condensor unit outside the home. The fan was not working and this really puzzled the technician and of course I explained that the thermostat to higher temperature for the night. Oh well ok.

We went up into the attic and everything looked ok up there. He checked around and couldn't figure out what the problem was and therfore no real solution. He then said that flushing the primary line might help but it's not covered under the warranty and would cost me and additional $165 on top of the $55 he charged me just for showing up. I refused his offer and the next day cancelled my warranty with American Residential Warranty.

To sum up the warranty cost me hundreds of dollars and I got nothing but aggravation for it. Total ripoff. Beware of this company.

Do not give these liars any of your credit card information over the phone! The representative over the phone told me their home warranty plan was better than the AHS American Home Shield warranty I currently have and guaranteed me they covered more items for less money. The representative told me a one time fee of $19 it would guaranteed me repair of my air conditioner and refrigerator within 24 hours. I was told they were running a special so I had to sign up today to get the lower prices. It sounded too good to be true and I should have known better.

Upon reviewing their website and consumer reports on the web, I called back the next day to ask more questions. American Residential only covers up to $500 if one of my appliances break down - AHS American Home Shield covers up to $3000. Their service fee per claim is $55, AHS is $75. To get a plan that covers all the items AHS covers for $68.01 per month I would have to pay American Residential $80.91 per month. Once I had the true comparison I told the representative to cancel my service. I was transferred to Kate. I told Kate I wanted to cancel my service because the salesperson misrepresented the services. I was informed they would cancel the service but I would be responsible for the $19 application fee. I told her the salesperson did not tell me about any application fee and I wanted all charges cancelled. She said she would listen to the call and call me back.

I never got a phone call so I contacted my Credit Card company and the charge is currently in dispute!

Don't trust this company all the bad reviews are true!

After being a customer since January. I was a victim of identity theft which cause my bank to shut down banking account and credit cards. Even though I called to explain the situation to Ameican Residential Warranty that I was waiting on my card to update my payment they closed out my policy. Made may re-open a brand new account and start my waiting period all over. During that traumatic moment we had some plumbing issues now they used that tramatic experience as reason to now claim it was pre-exisitng due to them cancelling the policy and making go though a new wating period after i explained what happened with my identity being stolen. BEWARE THEY WILL USE FINE PRINT TACTICS TO GET OUT OF PAYING A CLAIM REGARDLESS OF HOW SMALL. THEY USE CALL CENTERS IN MEXICO TO GIVE ME A COMPLETE RUN AROUND AND PUT ME INTOUGH WITH SEVERAL PEIPLE TO SHUFFLE ME LIKE A Piece a paper. I sincerly regret using that company.

Hello.I am not the person to be ripped off but I felt I needed to write this comment on American Residential Warranty.I am a class A master HVAC person who has worked in the HVAC industry for 34 years.I had a service call on a retired customer who had a warranty with American Residential Warranty.I did not know this at the time when I ran the call.I had found they had a bad furnace control board causeing there blower to not run thus there air conditioner was not working. They explained to me they had an American residential warranty.I told them the repair was pretty expensive and was over $400.00 dollars and reccomended they contact there warranty company for repairs.

A week later they contacted me stating they wanted the repairs.I told them I would come out but with the age of the unit it may be a bad decision to invest that much money into a unit that was of there age. When I got there they showed me papaer work from another company that stated the furnace control board was bad and they were informing the warranty company so they could get permission to make the repair.

They then showed me a email that American Residential Warranty had denied there repairs stating it was a pre existing condition. Now let me explain the blower would have never worked in heating or cooling if it was a pre existing condition.

Next they showed me an offer by American Residential Warranty to pay them $500.00 USD towards repairs and then would not be warrantied after this point and with a written agreement to NOT electronically or written agreement to not post any complaints against there company any where including social media.

That is why I am taking the time to post this even though I have no dog in this fight.

1.They are retired on a limited income

2.They just had paid 480.00 for there renewal 3 months earlier.

3.I took care of them under the circumstances.

Sometimes we need to look at peoples circumstances and I see as companys grow into monsters they look at only the bottom line.It is not just American Residential Warranty as I have seen many companys AKA Home warrantys make mis leading ads in there advertisments. Please always read the fine print and remember if it sounds to good to be true IT IS!

American Reidential claims they will replace or repair your appliances, they do neither. The cap they will pay out to replace a refrigerator is only $500.00 and only $500.00 for an AC unit as well. Yet they tell you if it cannot be repaired it will be replaced, which is a lie.

A law suit needs to be filed against this company. You pay your hard earned money under the impression that your appliances will be proteceted and nothing is protected in all actuality. What a horrible way to treat customers and do business.
