Allied Mortgage Group Reviews

I responded to a direct mailer I received in the mail for a VA debt consolidation refinance. I called the number and it was answered by a fast talking Salesman that wasn't a very good listener and I grew weary in the beginning because my ears started to hurt after a few minutes on the phone. I finally got to speak so I can tell the gentleman what I was trying to accomplish by refinancing into a VA loan to pay off some debt with high monthly payments. I have a tough time trying to survive on my VA pension so I was very interested in the 3.75% interest rate a full percentage lower and the amount of debt I can pay off with the equity in my homesaving me 900 monthly. The loan salesman told me to send me all my documents and VA cert which I did diligently. The loan salesman told me it woould take about 3 to 4 weeks to close. I was charged a $500 appraisal fee upfront. Mind you I estimated my home to be 425,000 range, when appraisal was finished, I didn't hear anything for a week after the appraisal. I called the salesman back and he said he didn't get anything back from the appraisal company but he will look into it. He called me the next day and said the appraisal was a little short, I asked how short? He said 415k I said ok not bad so are we still moving forward? He said yes but 3.75% was not available because of the pricing structure but he said we can pay off all your debt. I said ok so what's the rate I was expecting maybe 1/8 higher, he blurted out %4.125. I said buddy how is that possible?? He went on and on about don't focus on the rate we are still saving you $800. I said bull s**t not only are you a liar and a crook you are taking advantage of a veteran that fought hard for his country while you were sitting on your a** scamming people. The gentleman got very arrogant and defensive and I can smell the B.S. and nervous sweat coming through the phone. I asked him for his manager contact because I know I wasn't getting anywhere with this man. I asked for a manager and I was transferred to another office, I was told the manager was on vacation and wouldn't be back till the following week. I asked if I could talk to someone else, I was put on the phone with another extremely fast talking guy with a thick Philadelphia accent and he sounded like he was on something. I told him about my complaint and he said sorry that's how it works and listen buddy think of dollars not rate spiel. I immediatley asked for my money refundned for the appraisal he said he would look into it. Weeks went by no return phone calls after numerous messages from me demanding my money back because of their lying and bait and switch tactics. I may be a vet but dosen't make me stupid about shady business practices. I reported them to the dept of banking and it's an ongoing case wish me luck. I hope this is read by as many people as possible thinking about getting in mbed with these crooks! They should call it I lied mortgage.

I was initially sent a mailer by this company (have no idea how they got my information) with an offer to complete a mortgage at 2.35%. The offer did not describe what type of mortgage this was relevant to, ie, no explanation of term, etc. so I called the number on the mailer to see if they could really deliver. the representative told me that his bank was offering this rate for a 30 year fixed mortgage and we proceeded to complete an application over the telephone. I told the representative that I wanted to lock the interest rate and he said that he would lock the rate for me first thing the next morning as their lock desk was currently closed. I called in the next day to make sure that the rate was locked and the representative told me that it was and that I would be receiving the disclosures including the rate lock electronically. Next, the Allied representative explained that my refinance would require an appraisal and that we needed to complete a credit card authorization to cover the cost which would be $480.00. We completed the application and the appraisal was ordered for the following week. The appraiser came and did his job and within a few days Allied sent me a copy of the report. the value of the home came in right where we expected it to and I was really looking forward to settlement. everything seemed to be going really smooth. A few days later, I received a call from my representative indicating that the lock, for whatever reason (blah, blah, blah), never went through and that the best they were going to do for me was 4.5%. CAN YOU IMAGINE? What kind of clip-joint is this? I freaked out as I had already paid almost $500.00 for the appraisal and had spent alot of time gathering all of my financial documents and getting everything back to Allied's representatives as requested; I was furious! I told the representative that I wasn't going to complete the refinance at the new terms and demanded that they refund my appraisal fee. My loan consultant wasn't even listening and kept trying to tell me how much money I would be saving monthly like i was some stupid kid or something. I have a 792 credit score and had gotten multiple quotes before calling into Allied (all which were almost 1% better in rate) and I couldn't believe this jerk was still trying to sell me on this. I told him that there was no way in hell I was going through with this and at that point he became verbally abusive and actually called me a d**k-head. I told him to go pound sand and hung up. I called my credit union (knew I should have done this in the first place) and completed an application. I ended up getting an interest rate of 3.875%, paying off most of my existing debt and didn't even require an appraisal. I am still fighting with Allied to have my appraisal fee refunded but they have stopped returning calls and responding to voice mails. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!
