Alice Wright Properties Reviews

  • May 3, 2019

My family moved into a property on October 16, 2019. The man who rented to us was absolutely amazing! There was a leak upon move in that disrupted our lives as the living carpet and y’all carper was soaked. It took Stanley Steamer 2.5 days to remedy. The landlord took care of it.

Leaks and plumbing issues continued and continue to this day, and for some reason the cause can not be found. Each worker sent to the property is a friend or family member of the landlord or perhaps his wife (according to one of that has come to the home), and not one them can figure out why the toilets leak, sink leaks, pipes in the walls knock, running water can be heard in the walls and behind the bathroom tiles and fixtures, or why water is all over the floor and carpet in the basement with mold growing (as of right now).

The man I signed a lease with appears to be fair, however, his wife (who I never met until she kept showing up at the property unannounced looking to “copy” my copy of lease, only to modify it with additions and scratched and scribbled items out as well as jump up and down on my front porch, fake cry, and have a witnessed mental health breakdown in front of my family and neighbors-how embarrassing) tags along offering LORD knows what advice, is she a plumber?

The water bill is astronomical and I don’t even have a washing machine yet. I don’t mind paying my usage or even the average water cost for the property but the first bill was $900; second bill, $500ish, and now $735.

The landlords know leaks exist and running water can be heard through walls, pipes knock, water is on floor/carpets in the basement, at move in there was an existing leak, toilets flush on their own, and several other plumbing issues have had to be addressed but they expect me to pay for it. Well that will be cause for a magistrate to decide it appears.

I have a child with asthma in here and a newborn with mold and and active leaks in the home, I thought the man I signed a lease with had a conscience. Shame on him! I tell you these landlords have popped up over to the property numerous times announced even on weekends and holidays and have been asked to stop.

I foresee the decision to continue doing it is the wife with evidenced mental instability ( I believe my neighbor has her episode on survellience, it was something out of a movie, very strange). When dealing with only the man I signed the lease with, he appears to be trying but has to run ask her for permission and direction.

As I type this I hear water turning on in the walls, it sounds like someone turning on a faucet, it runs then shuts off. There are major plumbing issues here and this landlord wants the tenant to be responsible for leaks and plumbing issues, shameful actions.

Alice Wright LLC has had a City Code Enforcement recently filed and the inspection I cannot wait for; along with a notice to the City Water of company of all the complications since move in and video, text, sound recorder evidence. I have been patient long enough and far too nice.

So called Plumbers come in and make comments, “looks like someone threw water on the floor!” thinking my kids won’t tell me and/or the landlords pop up unannounced again and bring 4-5 random people, non-professionals to walk through the home and disrupt quiet enjoyment while I am not home but working.

I am beyond disturbed by the actions of these people. I am upset about the water bill and certainly looking over my shoulder for the wife that pops up at the property unannounced on off business days, providing no notice, creeping alongside her husband as if she can offer plumbing insight LOL. I am so sick of going through mess with some landlords.

I have had great landlords and I just knew this guy was, I am feeling totally different now. I am pretty certain the plumbing issues is a landlord obligations and with known leaks, it is the responsibility of the landlord to assume costs. I will pay average cost for water usage since there is no method of determining actual usage.

I do no the meter is good, the water company replaced following the landlord witnessing the meter needle spinning uncontrollably. The water company tested it and it was fine so nice try landlord, get to paying that bill and fixing all these plumbing issues. I don’t want to bring suit against this guy and his wife’s business, however, there may be no alternative.
