Esther Cohen is a Depraved Shyster

I went to see Esther Cohen of The Alchemy of Nourishment after separating from my husband in very difficult circumstances. A friend recommended her since I had become depressed, gained weight and had gynecological problems.

The woman is a shyster! Don’t tell me I can’t use that word because I’m Jewish and we invented the word.

Where do I start? Let’s see. First off, she spent a full twenty minutes asking me about my families’ real estate. Seriously! Jesus lady, if you want to social climb then do so on your own time and not during a “counseling session.”

Secondly, she asked me a lot of very personal questions not only about my gynecological conditions, but my sex life, childhood, and husband. It’s not Desperate Housewives of Boulder County! She then shared some details of her own sex life which I had no interest in hearing and made me feel very uncomfortable.

The healing? She did a bunch of muscle testing (quack anyone?) and then BodyTalk which is more muscle testing that’s supposed to reprogram your belief system (Scientology anyone?) Then, get this, $400 worth of supplements. $400! I bought them like an idiot and my daughter pointed out I could have bought them on Amazon for 20% less. They didn’t help at all.

Next? She told my friend all about our session at a social event!!! WTF!!! What an evil person. Who does that? So I went to a real naturopath (you know, with a degree and license and never was part of Heaven’s Gate or the Manson Family.) Diagnosis? Low thyroid and a $3 a day thyroid supplement a day. Cost? $175 total!

The depraved part? The woman lived in a sex cult for twenty years and raised her daughters there!!! Yes, WTF??? If you want to live in a commune and screw every Tom, d**k, and Harry who passes by then that’s your business, but you don’t raise your kids in the middle of an alcohol and drug fueled orgy.

Don’t support this cultic lunatic, tell her anything you wouldn’t want on a billboard, or give her a single thin dime.

Here are the New York Times articles and Esther Cohen even appears under alias in some of them.

I saw Esther Cohen back when she had her cult, er I mean, "School" where she charged my friend $11,500 a year to get recipes and be insulted when Esther showed up at all. I went to her private clinic because I had been in an abusive relationship and the stress was causing a disorder. Esther Cohen told me that my dad abusing me and then that guy were part of "My Story" and basically that I caused it and my eating disorder was rejecting sex or some bulls*. This is all the mumbo jumbo blame the victim BS she learned in 20 years in some stupid cult called Divine Madness where she had sex with 500 men or whatever. During our session she told me about her "Open Marriage" with her husband like it was some big deal.

I felt so disrespected I started crying and she sat there stone faced. I called a therapist, a real one, and she told me Esther Cohen has a long history of re-abusing victims of trauma and that I show NOT go back to her. So I called her and told her not to cash the check I gave her and NOT ONLY DID she run to her bank to cash it, but used MY STORY as an example in class the next day. My abuse, eating disorder, and EVEN me cancelling the check! What a *

So I let this slide for years, but another friend told me a similar story and it seems creepy little Esther Cohen is back to her old Divine Madness bag of tricks. She has no credentials, no ethics, is completely driven by money and power and her family is like the Munsters.
