There isn't any governing, Association or legislation for private Recovery centers. I have been taken for 45,000.00 so have many other people. Please google John Haines. When I signed up for my son's opioid addiction I found it funny no one at the centre gave last names.

Please contact me for story. It's the Canadian Addiction Recovery Network. He has two locations my son was at the Rocky Mountain Revoery NetworK. The manager is very abusive and the made promises of one on one professional help.

I taught yoga at the alberta retreat south of caroline twice weekly. I have not been paid for my final invoice. My last day was feb. 20.2019. I left of my own accord. Today is june 13, 2019.

I see that the owner john haines has before not paid people. How can he get away with this?

This is not fair at all.

Don't pay Employees

I give this place no stars. John Haines is up to his old tricks. Had I reviewed his history prior to agreeing subcontract yoga teaching at one of his Addiction Recovery Networks, I would have had second thoughts. He owes me money. He has told the Director that he has paid me. He hasn't. I would have received an email from CIBC stating that a deposit was made into my account. He charges outrageous amounts to suckers who want rehabilitation. I would not waste any money going there for rehab. It isn't true rehab. If you want rehab look into Mexico. Avoid Addiction Recovery Network. If you are thinking of going there. There is no accounts payable department. You have to email them. I wonder how many other people he has shafted. I saw from 2016 that there was a list of over 20.

No recovery at Addiction Recovery Network

If you are considering treatment at Addiction Recovery Network (ARN) I suggest that you first google John Haines, Toronto, before you give him a dime! This treatment center operates under multiple names and websites, and moves locations frequently, in order to minimize accountability and negative reviews.

Most treatments outlined in your contract are not provided. Sometimes the one-on-one therapy is as short as 15-30 minutes per day and some days you don’t even get to see your therapist. I witnessed some new clients wait over a week to even see a counselor. Once you have been there for approximately three weeks the group therapy starts to repeat. The information provided is very limited and sometimes it is a YouTube video you could just google yourself.

The majority of staff and clients are unhappy and there is a lot of conflict. Employees are not paid and there is a rotating door of new staff. During my 5 week stay at ARN 9 people quit.

The holistic approach is a joke. Many of the days you are provided with no programs of any sort, most meals are not healthy and there is no exercise program. Week days are terrible and weekends are even worse. They do not have you active from sunrise to 11 pm as stated on one of their websites, not even close.

There is no security to speak of and it is very easy to bring in drugs and use them as I witnessed during my stay.

There is no “lifetime” guarantee. At best you will get two “free” weeks if you relapse and that can cost you an additional $3,000 to $5,000.

The rooms can go weeks without being cleaned or without providing clients with clean towels and linen. Most of the pictures on their multiple websites are misleading or downright false.

John Haines will tell you whatever he thinks you need to hear in order to get your money. Once he has it, he denies everything he has said. That is, if he will even talk to you!

Unsafe / Total Scam

Please do not attend the peel place retreat or Halton Hills. I just escaped there after one day, realizing that we had been scammed. They were going to have a security guard administer some sort of medication when I started demanding access to my cell phone to phone my husband to let him know of the scam.

ARN Mountan Aire Alumnist

Hi, I am a former client/victim of this Scam and was treated improperly, at one point my right to call or contact Advocacy services or anyone outside of the facility, Was taken away from me, ( which was against their so called policy and The client rights I was supposed to have ) and that action happened at the most detrimental time in my life, when I had a deadline to act, and that lost moment of time impaired and ruined my ability to retain my livelihood and career.

Also, due to the scam artists lack of quality care, I was, and have since been, more depression ridden, became addicted to gambling as a result, feeling completely ruined, more than I ever was before going there. I needed a hopeful and helpful, and qualified place to help me with my rehab process, especially after some very recent traumatic events that had happened in my life just before I foolishly chose this place to get better. Instead I was left with another event to add to the trauma in my life, that has led me further into listlessness, and increased clinical depression.

I am in A harder and more depressive addled existence than I have ever been. The 5 weeks I spent at that facility completely hurt any road to recovery I had hoped to be on. Trying to leave the facility, they wouldn’t help and Made that day extremely stressful the whole time.

I believe they were hoping to illicit some kind of violent response from me to try and use It to doctor the records of my stay, and try and make me look like just a crazy acting violent person or something? I’m still not sure what their ridiculous motives were that day , but It forced me spend more money just to get a motel room In the nearest town, which was as far as they were willing to help me to get away from that place.

I was there before and during the time when a client went missing for about 3 days, and was Then found deceased at the edge of the River next to the facility. This ARN facility I refer of is also known as the " Mountain Aire” facility.

I was there and knew that client, and had spoken with him a few times, and had seen him just 30 min prior to his " disappearance " ( which I don’t believe he was actually missing at all for 1 minute )

Yet, Even though my problems S as t the time were Unrelated, not regarding the "alleged” suicide, idiot pretending to manage the "Treatment” of clients, and also manage the operations of the facility, Chose to revoke all phone privileges, and would not even let me call the police, and implied physical force would be used by staff, just to keep me from calling any of my loved ones, or friends, anyone, including police.

The reasons they cited to retract my phone use, and ONLY way to contact anyone was revoked? Because of some minor damage I inflicted to a wall in my room, (damage that I did because i was completely and totally at the end of my patience that the pretend medical staff that didn’t know what ibuprofen was, after 2 weeks of me being there, still had not had even 1 day that The administered my antidepressant medication At the proper dose.)

And this damage had already happened over a week earlier anyway, and had only been inspected suddenly after the client went missing. Mostly like they were trying to back track on their paperwork to make it not look like they were incompetent supervisors more interested in being scam artists.

The same damage that I had reported when it happened to the current " Clownseller” on duty and I had made no secret of doing.

The same damage that hurt my hand quite seriously, and I wasn’t given any Medical attention or treatment or bandage, etc, at all to help with the injury, as they weren’t concerned with it at the time, oh, and suddenly 1.5 weeks after I did it, that suddenly I am punished for it, like an adolescent?

He did not seem to care that I Also offered to, and was , mid process fixing the damage infact, I had already almost completed the repairs anyway myself ( which after what I paid to be there, absolutely not my job to do) by that time.

But he did not want to hear that, and the manager operating the place, with his scam friend head counseller, and the office admin / staff hanged up on me in an office, and being completely ignorant and not listening to facts at all, acted as though this was suddenly a massive problem I had done, and suddenly took my phone priveledges away for an undecided amount of time.

Did I mention S as nowhere that this actually happened hours after I had used the phone and called John Haines when I was in there, and had preceded to ask him why his staff were incompetent, and unqualified, told him about my lack of proper medicine, asked why the facility was substandard, ( Ran out of drinking water 4 times when I was there- Found out they started just filling the 1 and inly water cooler with unpotable water from the river anyway….. good thing Im pretty resilient to stomach issues), And he just acted like it wasn’t his problem and instead just passed the buck to the staff working there saying it was their problem, and not to call him again.

They kept me from contacting my wife and children, and stole my opportunity to have my livelihood intact. That has completely traumatized me. I wasn’t even allowed to call the police, And this all happened in September 2019 – a month before the facility was shut down by the Health minister. I also know some Employees of this Fake Rehab place who Among the Fakers, were not Faking, and did do a great job there, And they also were not and have not been paid for their time there.

But the reality is that many employees working there were not qualified at all to be there. Many we’re pretending to act in positions that they are not educated well enough For, or outright unable to perform. Thus, at the end, this was the worst thing that could have happened to me ( yes I said "Happened TO me” as I don’t think signing up for a second chance at life and being a victim of this companies promise, is something I had enough faculties or awareness at that time to avoid. This scam helped continue to RUIN parts of my life, and I am still trying to crawl out of the ashes, and put a few pieces together that the 5 weeks at this facility burned.

I hope someone gets something Financially back from this Lying P.O.S crook that promised Me a much different recovery center, filled with experts, and boasted a great Family after care program ( that actually does not exist.) I hope someone lets this guy find himself in an uncomfortable and very appropriate situation that befits his wretched advantage and psycological rape he has inflicted by offering a solution to someone who is desperate, and instead adding more to that desperation and fuelling it.
