I was recruited by a senior director and old friend. His subordinate, Adam, was my manager. From week 2 to month 6, he would threaten my job and have closed door meetings. These were mostly unprovoked, and mistakes I made due to zero training were minor. I also believe, with his technical skills, that he setup my e-mail account incorrectly, hence why IT, toward the end of my employment, confirmed certain messages were not being auto-generated.

Adam was aware that his influence exacerbated the anxiety I was getting over. I would go home with stress headaches and lost all of my sick and vacation days. I did not report him to HR, as it would have gotten my friend in trouble, but this behavior could have led to an easy lawsuit. My loyalty to my friend is what saved the company from the HR nightmare Adam created for Invitation Homes.

He is a poor manager, and because I was not Mormon, I believe that played a part in him wanting to get rid of me. He is skilled in his exact position, but he is a terrible manager, and I still debate whether or not to file a lawsuit. He knowingly caused me physical pain, and my only relief came when I finally could not bear it and told my friend, whom set Adam straight. Adam then proceeded to coach his replacement on how bad I was, and it took me almost a month to set the record straight.

This man is a walking liability with a Machiavellian complex. He almost cost his company a $100k lawsuit. He should not be employed in any management capacity.
