On Aug 24, 2016 Acree's technician installed only one of two plenums in my air conditioning ductwork because he was not able to installed the second one. He contacted his manager and received the ok and I was informed that I would be receiving a refund of $397.50 since I had already paid for the work. I have written two letters addressed to Ms Nikki Sherd requesting said refund but I have been completely ignored. I have been an Acree customer for over fifteen years and have been very satisfied with the services received and with all the technicians, but I'm to my wits end. I don't want to change company but if this problem does not get resolved soon I will have no other alternative.

Let me tell you about my last AC Company Acree Air. I paid them$11.95 every month for over 6 years, more than half of my AC's life. I did this to help extend the life of my AC. But NO... I had many Acree techs come through my house over the many years to look at my AC. Some would say I needed something but the next text said no... Then another would say you need something and the next would say I wouldn’t change a thing. Then I got strong armed and taken advantage of my concentration and memory from disability as a veteran. They got me to buy a UV light they said would clean everything and make my air clean. So I did and after other techs came to my house they then told me my UV light was installed incorrectly so after 2 years they moved it and said this would be allot better for my AC and the air in my home. Again a tech would tell me I needed something and again another tech would say I don’t. Very confusing and no consistency what so ever.

So as time went on I got strong armed into buying a $25.00 dual capacitor for $300.00 plus that the said would fix everything and make my AC last for years to come. Then he also installed my new thermostat. The very next month my power bill went up 60% and I called them to complain. I had to wait a week for another tech to come out. He said the other tech didn’t install the thermostat correctly and that heat and AC was running at the same time and they tech had been fired.

The following month my power bill doubled and again a tech came out and did a full system check and said I need more work and said just the opposite of what the other tech said AGAIN… So after a few more weeks my system went dead after all the problems with Acree, Techs and AC system for the past 3 months and my power bill going through the roof. I did what they told me to do but nothing happened like the Acree Techs promised would happen. I wouldn't have if I know Acree Techs would mess up my system. So then my system went out just a few weeks after all of that on a weekend of course. All of this happened within 3 months. The tech came out and said now it needs to be replaced and gave me a few options with a manager on speaker phone. So I said I would have to think about it and he said to call tech if I have any questions. So I called then later that day to ask 1 questions and he didn’t know the answer.

So I said to have the manager that was on the speaker at my house to call me. The tech said couldn’t talk to him because they are busy with their family this weekend. WHAT? I have no AC so I have to wait till the 3-day weekend is over to get questions answered. So of course I was forced to call other companies to get help fast. Which everyone else was right on it. One company even came out to put a window unit in my bedroom to help while I make up my mind without signing anything or agreeing to buy anything. That’s customer service. After I had other companies come out to look at my unit and give me quotes and still no word from ACREE. The other companies also noticed that Acree Air did hardly nothing over the past 5 plus years and everything they said and promised was untrue. The other companies all agree that installing the thermostat incorrectly cause such a stressor on my 10yr old system that they are surprised it didn’t break the system that month in was installed incorrectly. They also showed me how dirty the fan was in the air handler. Let just say in was disgusting with dirt, mold and who knows what else.

Keep in mind that Acree has been my AC company servicing my AC for over 5 yrs. Acree Techs said by buying their UV light none of this would happen. Also by replacing the dual capacitor it would extend my AC life by at least 5 yrs. None of which was true. Do yourself a favor don't call Acree Air and if you are using them change fast. I guarantee they are doing nothing for your AC and the life of you AC system... I had to find out the hard way and my life mission is to warn everyone. Already in contact with BBB and other sites to warn the public. I found out from another Acree Air employee that they are a sales driven company and do below the bare minimum to service customers AC systems and he went on to call them unethical hard sales company that he is glad he left and now work for a company that is customer driven and goes beyond the call of duty and not just trying to sell stuff customers don’t need.
