AARP Medicare Complete Reviews

  • Aug 14, 2015

Several years ago, I signed up for AARP Medicare Complete Supplemental Insurance by United Healthcare which was free. Then I found employment and received insurance benefits from my employer and called in my first cancellation. Nothing was done. So I called in another cancellation. Nothing changed. In the meantime, UHC was denying all claims.

This went on for awhile - me calling in cancellations and UHC denying all claims until one day someone at AARP told me that I needed a form to cancel. So I got the form, filled it out, sent it in and cancelled the insurance program. All the while I believed that I was still on the free insurance program that I orignally signed up for.

Imagine my surprise when I learned that, for several months, I was being charged a premium! No one told me. No one called. I only then received a letter when I sent in the cancellation form. Amazing. I sent that to my attorney and he sent the company a letter. Their response was to bury us in paper and demand signitures. Even our attorney was mystified for the reason. Their next response was to send a collection agency after me.

Mr. Keith Johnson is the Coordinator to this masterpiece and I am a senior citizen. I believe that UHC has put together a program to take advantage of senior citizens and I will never, ever use UHC or AARP again.

By the way, UHC has never paid one red cent toward any bill, but they sure managed to charge me. At this time, my response is to pay UHC the money and turn this case over to our state Insurance Commissioner. This has been one crazy, mixed-up ride.
