A-1 Concrete & Stone Reviews

  • Oct 19, 2016

Greetings Fellow Comsumers / Shoppers, I am writing this letter in hopes that it will reach enough of you so you won't be cheated the same way I have been. I entered into an agreement with Mr Alejandro Alaniz last Tuesday October 11th. He was contracted to build a well cover, remodel a mailbox and place two thresholds at my gate openings. He made and offer to counter an existing bid and I agreed to it. He insisted on a deposit and I did so with a cashiers check in the amount of $400. When I met with Mr Alaniz, I added an additional project for a small slab as well as a request for gutters. I paid the deposit and the project was set for Saturday October 15th. On the morning of October 15th, Mr Alaniz made claims that he was having truck issues but did not state whether or not it would be an issue for him to still perform the work. The gutter man that he recommended however did show up on the day of the job and not the day before as Mr Alaniz suggested. I called Mr Alaniz several times throughout the day and got absolutely no answers from him as to his whereabouts. Towards the evening around 7:30-8:00pm, I finally got text message stating he had truck issues. At this point due to a severe lack of communication, I requested my funds back via text and a few phone calls. Mr Alaniz simply ignored my calls and for the last three days since the missed appointment has made no attempts to reconcile the issue. I've requested a refund several times and he at one point he agreed to do so. When it came time to collect my deposit, once again there was something that came up at the last minute and then conveniently he would not answer the phone nor answer any texts and continued to claim his phone went dead. I was willing to give him another chance to do the work for just the well cover and he said he agreed, but refused to come up with a date to perform the work. Once again, I asked for a refund and now he claims to have purchased my materials for the job and cannot get a refund for them. This is absurd considering contractors can get store credit or funds back for what they don't use. He has not come to my home once to perform the work or reconcile the issue, so there are no used materials that can't be returned. I believe Mr Alaniz has spent the money on himself, rather than on the material which is why he continues to come up with excuses as not to visit or return funds. He asked one last time if I wanted the work done and I said "of course I do!" I asked him what date he was planning on doing this yesterday and again, SILENCE! I'm putting a warning out not to use this man or his company or anyone associated with his company (A-1 Concrete & Stone) for any work, nor trust him that he will get it done. He has cheated me and most likely others. He chooses not to communicate with his clients because of dishonest practices. Please research more options and DO NOT consider A-1 Concrete & Stone or Alejandro Alaniz for any contract work! It will be a detriment to you. If I didn't care about others, I wouldn't be writing this letter to all of you! Thank you and I hope this will help someone else, so they won't be cheated!
